The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
"I think the Greens lose support when they start talking about policies which may not be consistent with every person having the opportunity to make a living/have a job."
Personally it seems like a no brainer to me. We have no choice but to do something about the environment, if we don't want to face a massive catastrophe when we run out of enough fossil fuels to sustain everyone and/or the ecology collapses. We're already seeing price rises across the board for fuel as countries vie to keep the power on.
It's not a zero sum game and new technology has a way of giving us more opportunities to keep that compounding growth going and ensuring capitalism trundles on further.
Just my 2p.
"Their you go Disinform - I could be the arbiter of sanity on your behalf if you would like?"
I fear this is too much power for one man. Judging the sanity of someone else from what they type is like trying to guess what people eat based on how big their shoes are.
"Disinform you are correct. If they are offering you a blatantly unfair deal you have every right to stick up for yourself and try and strike something which gets more for yourself whilst still offering them enough that they won't walk away (assuming you would both be worse off if they walked away)."
Also, no clue what this is about.
"climate insanity is just a theory backed by computer algorithms designed to show the climate changes we were promised many years ago"
Also if man came from monkey's why is there still monkeys? Don't give me any of your "science" - I'm a free thinker and the world looks pretty flat to me.
Yeah... But short term gain is now starting to feel the brunt of it. No one cares until it hits the bottom line, but now we will see some traction as profits drop:

" empty virtue signalling"
No idea what this means. Climate change is a major issue and the impacts of fossil fuel scarcity are already being seen. This is clearly a massive opportunity, and boiling it down to the media fabricated culture war seems to be a pointless deflection. IMHO, etc.
"Give me your email, will send you a screen dump of the Positions"
If this is addressed at me it's all good. I have no reason to suspect you're not telling truth and even if you weren't how would it affect anyone else's life in the slightest? People worry too much about things that impact them in no way whatsoever.
You do you, as the kids say.
