You never know - with blooms paper at such multiples it may make sense for them to take out a competitor…..

Bigbas2all - Simon Thompson is the small companies investor guru at the Investors Chronicle. He puts out weekly tips. He will often guide readers to positions exactly like this where there remains a significant difference (often unjustified for the patient) between sale prices and holding prices where the patient are rewarded. If he highlights an opportunity the prices tend to narrow markedly running up to the company sale. 🤞

We could do with a classic Simon Thompson tip of a potential misvalue position - he often spots these. That would lift the share price if he does…

Will be interesting to see where MM place the value tomorrow. If it’s over 30p then they may believe higher offers are inbound. I still believe PE can create more value by using cash on their balance sheets rather than financing, just IMHO. We will have a guide tomorrow. GLA

Well that took a while to digest. Notice a lot of filters have suddenly kicked in! Worried…hey. The stand out comments imho - Since the start of the Offer Period, Wood has received a number of expressions of interest from, and engaged with, other parties in relation to a possible offer for Wood. However, as at 28 October 2025, being the latest practicable date prior to publication of the Supplementary Circular, no proposal other than the Acquisition, written or verbal, has been made for the Wood Group and Wood does not have any discussions ongoing with, and is not in receipt of any approach from, any party other than Sidara. (Waiting for accounts I presume like us.) I still believe PE could be all over this. If the price exceeds 30pence I guess the games on imho. GLA

I voted yes of course - so we have no covenant breeches for the next two years - what ever happens this is required to move forward imho. I will vote on the offer after the accounts are published.

Ps - if SIds are going to purchase all the issued shares at 30p why wouldn’t they buy below that in the open market- I would……and if it goes over 30p something interesting is a foot…….news by Monday 27th Oct?

One reason why PE may be the white knight - PE balances sheets are overloaded with cash - more than other time in recent history. As previously stated interest rates are high so lending for normal business is expensive, but for companies with cash on their balance sheets they can repay the debt with cash and save millions in fees and charges. This alone fixes the cash flow problems. Roll on three years and hey presto- they sell on for a good profit. This is their bread and butter IMHO. Let’s wait and see. GLA …….back to sleep now…..

Another key milestone achieved…

(Sharecast News) - Engineering and consulting firm Wood Group said on Monday that it has inched closer to a potential buyout after securing commercial alignment with bidder Sidara, and its lenders on refinancing terms. Back in April, Sidara made a 35.0p per-share cash offer for Wood. Now, it said its board was working through the fine print, including a refreshed debt package that could extend maturities to 2028 and introduce new bonding facilities.

Well at least with the other disposals they will have delivered on one milestone!

Urraca - As a Chartered accountant and former FD may I ask you a question. We know that we can’t come out of suspension until the accounts are filed. I presume draft accounts would be delivered to the board for review to ensure no obvious errors before publication. In which case how much time would typically last between draft issue and filing completion if no queries identified?
