@JB - just trying to look at everything from all angles and personally make less assumptions going forward mate so am playing devils advocate against a growing narrative of NCM being a 'bad player' so we don't collectively get caught out again.
You're perhaps a bit too fixed on one narrative IMO (but it might well be the correct one ironically!) and perhaps blind to everything else and I feel this is what happened with a lot of us last night.
Not for the first time either, in 2020 Stephen Beetham had us all fixated on a buyout while he sold out - if there are 'bad guys' playing us - they are proving to be far more sharper than any of us at the minute lol
Much of the anger and frustration last night was from those needing to exit soon-ish, those sick of the capital loss or the missed opportunity in the 30's and now postponing plans for retirement etc.
I definitely feel for them and not too happy myself of course either, a lot can change very quickly though in this game, so fingers crossed for all of us :-))

Was chatting about the lack of MRE 2 with a friend over lunch and do think that the delay (for whatever reasons) has pushed the FMV exercise further out too as both need to have a mutually agreed MRE out there to assist as a lot will be based off that and any inclination for both to be collaborative does require an agreement on metrics to some extent IMO
But the delay probably/possibly means that the official 'time of valuation' might allow use of more data with a delayed MRE update. That helps us more than NCM surely, hence still not convinced they are playing games with us.

Hydro - I am kicking myself mate - I just don't get on reflection why I expected the MRE2 tonight lol
Tonight all falls under a specific financial period inc. the Ore Resources & Reserves .......and as the MRE2 doesn't yet exist sand wasn't published within that financial period.........
Feeling pretty dumb - I should know better and perhaps more than a few of us should :-)
Live and learn I guess and GGP has been such a unique experience - it's kind of swept us all along like a tidal wave, 'Group Think' at work, finally I get what that means.
Time to smarten up, be less paranoid collectively too and try and be smarter than the 'bad guys' :-))

Are you confusing the Financial Year and Calendar Year dates SImon?
Do remember that Oz Financial dates are different than Calendar Year, I used to make that mistake too at first.

think the report only covers what was true as of that financial period - hence no MRE2. Perhaps this is why Shaun was pushing for MRE2 in December so it could be included in HY report

Don't forget when it was booked that Shaun knew he'd have an updated MRE to discuss regardless of where we would be with the FMV exercise.
I do expect he will have some new slides to present tomorrow around the MRE irrespective of whether we hear or not on the 5% Option tonight.

Absolutely Jerry - couldn't agree more.......we have a Havieron next to Havieron it appears in the E.Berccia and the 'numbers' are only going to get better - and they are pretty damn amazing already.
Alistair's interview with Liam was very pertinent in talking about the uniqueness of such opportunities and the mindset of these large majors.

NCM do seem very focused on their North American presence and expansion being at the public forefront while they get on with the Telfer/Havieron switchover Timber - but I do think as we go into 2023 and closer to production that this will switch over to a lot more PR and focus on Havieron naturally.
All the big boys in mining seem to be shouting out about their growth and longevity along with divi's where I've had time to look into them, you pick up a lot looking at the marketing/PR and strategical decisions of a company and I do think many here need to spend more time thinking from the Newcrest perspective and across their entire portfolio of assets......for them they have a lot on their plate, not just our shared interests with Hav and under Juri JV.
From memory, in previous Q&A sessions I've had the sense that Sandeep's had to answer questions about a less generous divi and focused on the growth and longevity of their portfolio and aim to focus on low-cost Tier 1 assets. He's obviously had to take NCM through a major transformation in his time at the top there and as we saw in the article - not been plain sailing and also a learning experience for him.

I'll just be glad to see the report Timber as the numbers contained make that much more of Havieron 'official' and can then be factored into all sorts of things such as Broker Notes to assist our attractiveness for investment, also very interesting of course as will help us make some assumptions towards the FMV valuations between GGP/NCM.
Whether we get an update on that is of course a big unknown tonight - but adds to the excitement :-)

I see you like to promote that company quite often Cygnus but why would anyone listen to someone who obviously doesn't have an in-depth understanding of the companies and a sector that they are invested in looking at your posting history is beyond me........seems like an attempt to ramp IMO
Plenty of links to interviews/notes and so forth in mine and Max11's posting history, Hydro has some really good insight with his experience and knowledge and a few others who post here frequently if you're being genuine.
Convince yourself - I don't see any benefit in having you as a fellow investor and don't believe you would be a meaningful one - people with big funds to play with don't generally need guidance in DD - DYOR as 5x5 suggests :-)
