Comment that recent deals (some announced in RNS on 8/7) have resulted in 'major earnings upgrades' sums it up. These shares look bargain basement despite the slight recovery in share price. Difficult to not value them at 240+

From his interview, this long serving M&S employee is clearly aware of the root causes to the problems affecting M&S which is the essential first step to putting them right. One thing was that some items were too expensive. Putting that right, together with the demise of competitor BHS means that things look better for MKS than for a while. Time to top up.

The placing proceeds were gross £35 million, and so far, VTU have only spent less than £1 million buying Leeds Jag from Inchcape, which is earnings neutral until next year. There were supposed to be three acquisitions. Anyone any idea what the other two are likely to be ? Announcement on Thursday ?

Waterloo revisited ? Sanofi have bid again for Medivation saying that even at 50% premium, the acquisition would enhance earnings. Will Azn enter bidding war, and what price victory ? Unlike Waterloo, not sure whether a battle 4 the price gougers (Us name 4 Medivation) is worth winning. Do u think this might b y sp so subdued ?

Any idea when the second SIA divi is expected and roughly how much ? Last I heard the board were considering it but no decision made. As for Barclays, their Q4 results today state that the Investment bank (which issues forecasts) needs work. For once, I agree with them.

Thx 4 pointing out the Ironwood issue - it probably explains the sp drop which made no sense following the 2 ve+ rns. Unless of course a bid 4 medivare is imminent or results on friday r expected to be bad. Hopefully Ironwood can pay 4 their license despite patients suffering hideous deaths and Azn decide not to buy the price gougers of Medivare and report half decent results on Friday.

Until you pointed out the Ironwood 'hideous issues' (patients s******* bricks by all accounts), it did not make sense for the share price to fall after issuing two positive RNSs in one day, unless of course AZN is about to bid for the 'price gougers' at Medivare, or are about to announce some bad results on Friday. Not sure which is the best scenario.

Last time they recommended 'underweight' target 130 the share price smashed their target within weeks ... With oil supply finally showing signs of beginning to fall, I believe the Jeffries 'buy' target 180 is a better bet.

How would Medivation be paid for ? Large share issue ? Shares and cash ? Rights ?
