Yes this is really good news. One doesn't pay to reserve capacity if there's doubt about moving forward. This is no "handshake" deal with even a "Subject to FID" that the shorters can try to raise doubt over. This is booked capacity delaying as much CAPEX for RWE until they actually want it as they can but committing to the volume which is sound commercial sense particularly with the cost of cash currently. The last capacity reservation is already creating revenue (that was a lie by you know who - it was confirmed in the presentation) this one will too. And 30 Neptunes, is showing a clear path to reversing the cash burn over the next 2 years - this is huge.

I went sea-fishing off the coast of California, 30 years ago. Catching Barracuda - as the people on the boat reeled them in, Sea-Lions would swim up behind them and bite the body off just behind the head to avoid the hook. Was really good fun trying to get a live one into the boat.

They are part of the Tuna family same as Mackerel etc. Really good eating.

Yawn, since it is sooo incredibly important to you SpicyTuna - this one time I will clarify my precis'd post for you.

Solar Farms and the associated requisite transmission infrastructure are misguided - neither the environment nor the populace can tolerate them. Solar belongs on Factory, Office, Industrial, Hospital flat roofs (etc) where existing distribution can manage the load with minimal reinforcement to manage the reverse flow, the capacity is already there. I said Solar Farms were misguided. My reference to the wind farm pulls outs was following on in the context of the debate on mass electrification for EV/Heatpump - never going to happen.

The shorts whole premise appears to be based on shoddy analysis that Nuclear is the great hope that will power mass electrification - new nuclear will take 20 years - by that time there will be no need for it for EV/Heatpump as Hydrogen will have filled the gap. Come back in 2050 and we will see who was right.

There's more to this analysis but the character limit and the fact that I'm not going to do your work for you means I'll leave it there. Now stay in the green box.

There isn't Ian - H&L never lend out their client shares - reasonably sure most reputable platforms wouldn't either - the ones where you are the product (i.e. they offer services for free) well you get the security you pay for.

I'd be reasonably sure the shares being leant are from the 60% tied up by long term investors - why wouldn't they earn some income on their holdings?

Seriously thought I'd walked into a failed British Eurovision entry - I go out for the afternoon/evening and the chat looks like WW3 broken out. Just been catching up on all the posts - little history lesson, only one poster called "Proceed with Caution" before the 94p spike, me. A certain other poster was AWOL - go read the history if you can be bothered. The 98p rally was a serious attempt on £1 - it looks like it was SNAM's exit that derailed that, some see that as a Red Flag, ignoring the fact that there are two clear conflicts of interest identified and they did naff all in the partnership so ITM are better off without them in any case.

The shorters are going overboard at the moment to try and pull the plug on this rally precisely because it is showing signs of being a sustained return based on real progress - I've never seen as much FUD as right now. They know the RNS are coming and every day brings them closer. If they were smart they'd recognise the writing on the wall and get out - but they aren't smart.

I saw this news drop yesterday, I wondered how long it would be before it found its way here. Let's post the follow on bit too - just for balance of course:

"The newly invited projects total 774 MW and represent EUR 908.8 million of total requested funding. They include the 200-MW GreenWHV ELY project in Germany led by UH2 and two 120-MW schemes in Spain and Portugal led by Iberdrola Clientes.

They are all in the general topic and have requested support between EUR 1.8 million and EUR 248.1 million in grants per project, with bids ranging between EUR 0.33 and EUR 1.22 per kg of renewable hydrogen produced.

The three projects initially selected in the maritime topic are moving ahead.

The final list of projects that will secure funding under the auction is expected to be announced before the end of the year.

The European Commission also plans to launch a third Hydrogen Bank auction at the end of 2025 with a budget of up to EUR 1 billion."
