So here’s my thoughts for the day…..I seriously think there has been a concerted effort by shorters under 0.2% to paste gcm…..it’s over,the company is aware and the one trader has drawn a line under it at 6p……the thing is we have millions of shares short and no sellers so they have to try to organise an exit !!……last night got a bit heated with certain punters who knew there could easily have been a ping north this morning……it must be a relief it didn’t happen but wow you can get out of a short position without the selling to hold your hand……

Someone will make for the exit soon then the last person out could really come unstuck…..

Bangla Govt has come out of its new year break all guns ablaze…….development in all areas should start to move now,the bnp 31point plan had some bold ideas,mass employment……which needs a strategic base of cheap stable non import energy and now they are moving to what we have known for years domestic coal from their own fields with open pit extraction at last…….👍

Feasibility studies have been planned for the construction of open-pit coal mines in the northern and southern parts of the Barapukuria coalfield in Dinajpur, the development of an underground mine in a 15 sqkm area in the north-western part of the Jamalganj coal field, spanning Naogaon and Joypurhat, and the establishment of an underground mine in the Khalaspir coalfield in Rangpur.

In addition, there is a plan to develop an underground mine to extract coal from the Dighipara coalfield in Dinajpur.

The energy minister said that the interim government had scrapped the Special Power Act of 2010 related to expedited power procurement and had moved to eliminate irregular practices in tariff approvals.

Responding to concerns from another ruling party lawmaker AE Sultan Mahmud Bablu, the minister said that feasibility studies were under way for new coal mining projects in Dinajpur, Naogaon, Joypurhat, Rangpur, and Dighipara.

Bara should never ever have been a deep pit….once again the loony lobbyists struck,funded by those that never wanted Bangladesh to have energy independence…..Bara turned into an overpriced minimal coal producing quagmire……management and lobbyists got fat and acres of land was spoiled and villages subsided…….to take the open pit decision is an immense achievement after years of brainwashing and manipulation…….

For the first time in Bangladesh history open pit comes to town and not a moment too soon……

Another interesting little map…..all these coal areas were just mentioned in gp,s article except Phulbari…..😂……..this is getting too silly to avoid now,the only coal basin ready to mine but it cannot be mentioned by name until the contract details are hammered out……

There’s going to be some burnt fingers soon for anyone thinking they can play the price…….

I think it has for a while Tark……..the govt cannot do open pit mining without an experienced contractor and Gcm has done all the studies related to phulbari/Bara they are the same coal field,the most economical way to fetch out the Bara coal is via phulbari by an absolute running mile…..add in the benefits of the overburden for the Teesta project and it’s an absolute no brainer…….same contractor power china,any discussion the government is having or had related to phulbari cannot imho refer to it by its name because it’s a private project and vast revenue is at stake,it’s looked good since February last year….there’s now no alternative than to dig themselves out of a financial hole…..the imf will want to know what the government are going to do about their dire situation before releasing any more cash,so the new government has to coordinate this very soon 👍

Professor M. Tamim, Vice Chancellor of IUB, stressed the urgent need to increase reliance on domestic energy, noting that boosting output from existing gas fields could take 2-5 years while new exploration would take even longer.

He highlighted the limitations of the BAPEX (Bangladesh Petroleum Exploration & Production Company Limited)-only approach, recommending engagement with international reservoir management firms to optimise output.

He also highlighted the need for a clear policy decision on domestic coal development.

Hi Tark that article was July 2022,the date you can see is todays date at the top of the website page,that’s nothing to do with the article……it’s ok it’s an interesting read and just shows the energy problems were as current in 2022 as today….Prof M Tamin is pro domestic coal resources and has stated many times it’s what the country has to do to get it out the mess….

It’s obviously going to be a quiet weekend as everyone seems to have gone into sabbatical…..was thinking last night the last time the one trader did their work it was to set the price for a raise?……now what business have they got this time?……it certainly seems to be underpinning the price very well,another raise so soon?……is it defensive,has the company detected the price is being manipulated……it obviously is as there’s absolutely no reason for this dip in the public domain…….

Lots to come if the phulbari site is to be taken as a true slice of the company activities,new non exec?…..further mou,s for developing the project,bnp 31 point plan for mineral extraction in conjunction with the energy master plan just around the corner….and lots more 👍

This could be the meeting that inks Teesta/Phulbari?……. “The project is currently under technical evaluation, though there is an expectation that Teesta-related projects will be prioritised”…..😉

In its first outreach to China, the newly elected Bangladesh government will send a 20-member delegation to Beijing this month. The team, led by the General Secretary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, will depart from Dhaka on April 16 and is expected to return on April 24.

Of all the people at the table in this mining project China probably has the biggest influence in the bvi and could if they wanted choke off the Polo reinstatement?……if the company proceeds as I think it’s doing with China paying back that loan would be a drop in the ocean if it never got converted…….plot thickens

It’s really unbelievable someone hasn’t had a pop at gcm so close to a mining plan being struck……this attack on the price looks hurried,rushed to get to the bottom…….there’s nothing negative in the public domain……if it’s something behind the scenes it could be a battle for control of the company/lease?…….that wouldn’t look good if we have been in negotiations with the new government…….maybe that’s the plan?

Anyway low volume again and the one trade out bright and early to give the price support?

One thing I have learned over the years is never underestimate the amount of trading cash sat waiting for this to turn…the dogs stop barking and then it’s over to the pump 😂
