Don’t have to apologise to me FR - I’m not board police ! Look forward to you’re compus mentus self return though ! (And you know I can’t spell for toffee :-))
It’s IMHO too mate - triple figures ;-)
FR - you fishing mate ? You’re in a very playful mood tonight. Roll on the Santa rally for Solg - May not happen in the general markets - but we have a beacon of light which should soon move back into the 40’s - great strength this week in the face of a sell off (thankfully) Some good sized buys as well through the week - PI’s aside from shippy’s buy for his wife - taking up more stock ? - or maybe an institution or two waking up to the fact that £700m just doesn’t come close to what we have. £90b resource + 20% on its way (back of fag packet) + everything else which is prospective - does not = £700m mcap (even with a £2.5b circa PEA) We are undervalued
Cheers Kiwi - I’m as certain as I possibly can be - we are golden here mate. No 100% guarantees mate (not sure they exisist). I’ve been here years now - I’ve seen it all the good and bad - our time is coming though - we just need the resolve and patience now to see things through to the end
FR - this board has been a battle today ! For those confronting each other and those reading through it all. Guys this is an investment - not a war zone ! Engage, Agree or Disagree, make a mistake or two it doesn’t matter a **** Strider, FR, Schemeil - you 3 love a bicker gents - your prerogative of course , your intelligent guys - certainly above my intellect and understanding - I’m not a mining expert, not a geologist, not an Equadorian political specialist, not a resource specialist - but I do own 100’s of thousands of these babies - so would rather read your intellectual input from all three of you whom I respect - rather than your bickering and wasteful exchanges (but hey the board is free so can be used for whatever medium each member chooses to post - shame) FR - your confrontational this afternoon - your usually reserved and more considered - my guess is you’ve been down the boozer. (I have - but you seem out of character - maybe just me after a couple of Friday liveners) Anyway - whilst you boys have been arguing and swinging your xxxxx at each other today things have been happening at Solg All positive ( nothing at all to worry about LTH’s) and all discussed in detail by a band of investors who spend time engaging in civil discussion without the tit for tat that this board seems unable to break away from- with some experts in the relevant fields - not self professed but real acumen, considered, polite, detailed and tolerant and understanding of all investors - helpful even - how good would that be replicated here ! GLA all Holders here, things are starting to fire up now - my most respected of friend and investor told me -“ it’s nailed on just hold and this will deliver ! “ I for 1 believe him...,,implicitly - it’s why I’m backing this investment with 10’s of k’s He hasn’t posted here for a while now - telling maybe !
so pleased your posting as Cookie again - it feels like an old friend has returned
Do remember the Xmas song Pad but unfortunately not got a good enough memory to remember each of the lines. I do recall the James Bond theme many participated in back in the summer with ‘a license to drill’ being a favourite of mine FR101 thanks for the charts observations - your comments very much correlate to another chartist who I correspond with in regard to Solg - bit of volume needed now and a close over that 37.5p would be nice Maybe a bit of regional news could provide a little lift and establish that trend back up to 42p+ £4 a share ! Wow now that’s proper dreaming - the point you raise is a very significant one though - at what price is enough in terms of the bottle needed to see it through - for me £1+ is a life changer - £1.57 puts me in financial freedom territory - £2 id be in financial heaven - but through each of these stages the desire to sell will increase. I guess selling in chunks would be most sensible or the take over which removes us as investors from the decision may provide the final lift. I’ll have to give it more thought as we get nearer to targets - way to go yet. Hope all is well with everyone - busy time with slow run up to Xmas now so my posting volumes have dropped - but I’m always reading and ‘lurking’ as they say
Haven’t followed SXX for a while Strider (I was invested for a few mths and sold with a reasonable profit) I believe from memory CAPEX was £3.5b but then they had to revise it by an additional £500m - would have to check back for actuals so take my numbers as circa
Don’t disagree Schlemiel - but it’s a process we have to go through which will lead us to an eventual higher share price - NM still very much playing chess (the old grandmaster), the option to go it alone could not be ignored by the big boys - and it buys us more time, being funded and having drills ready to go is a tantalising prospect - not quite there yet but he will get us to that check-mate position
The tennaments were hand picked - cherry picked in fact - I’m convinced they will find additional discoveries - a shallow rich discovery could provide the option for earlier revenues and further assist in longer term funding requirements (or as a minimum further strengthen our hand). We’ve got 12 rigs - and a good few of those are going discovery hunting next yr ! We are cashed up have 2xMajors on our books and a world class team headed by a world class CEO all with vested interest (even our drillers have vested interest!) - can’t wait for next yr
Not all Long term holders have low averages Strider, I understand a good few do and I’m also aware of a few who have done exceptionally well and exited and some who have done exceptionally well and completely de-risked their position. I’d hazard a guess however that the vast majority of long term era still holding now will have bought more at various levels and as such increased their average. I got in early with buys at 3.5 and 4p (lucky) but Solg came into my radar early in my AIM investing life so I bought cautiously at first - as it grew so did my research and with the research my confidence and as such I added all the way up even buying about £15k’s worth at 44p - I’m in good profit now on my entire average holding which is great and more than happy to hold - I’m just guessing there are not too many left with really low averages (to those that are - well done guys) Anyway point I was going to make was William Middlekop - think Solg is the largest holding in his fund and his comments certainly ring true and align to my thinking’s - the buy out may well have been pushed out a bit - but balanced with the increased potential for a much higher price to eventually be achieved. Any In at 4p have 9 bagged to here 36p. That could be repeated again 36p to £3.24 - easily. (If this turns into a 2 or 3 or even 4 yr play that’s an excellent timeframe for another multi multi bagger) set against up to six mths for maybe a double - I know which one I’d prefer. (Acknowledge however all investors will differ on their preferred timescales) NM said in an interview a year or so back he believed the meteoric rise could be replicated (he didn’t mean doubled) and he meant replicated - i for one believed him then and now 18mths later I believe it even more. As for the options - think we disagree in part on that subject but thought you put your points across well and do understand your feelings. If we do go on the journey into the £’s there will be opportunities to exit along the way and if any are inclined to invest more here it’s certainly a safer bet now than it was in the early days Roll on regional news, PEA and maybe another Tier1 next yr ! Now wouldn’t that stick a rocket under proceedings
While we are at it - we should take out Rio and Newcrest as well - job done.
Maybe we could go hostile and make a move to buy BHP.......,I’m joking !! ;-)
Ned if we replicated that move from here we’d be bigger than BHP (nice dream - but a little unlikely in my humble) It’s the mcap and shares in issue you have to consider. Don’t worry though we still have a number of further bags in us yet !
Agree with that Strider - pop yourself on that list to. Balanced board now some differing opinions which is great and exactly how it should be. We are on a very positive path with Solg, can’t remember a negative RNS. SP will follow upwards - no idea on when that will happen - but I’ve backed my confidence on that with some serious money - I get a bit wobbly when we dip (human nature) but end game is extremely positive. £+ here is my prediction and I have an inclination that the final SP could be a great deal higher than many even hazard a guess at - how long ? Who knows but I’m willing to wait.
Addicknt - enjoy reading your posts my friend. Glad you are onboard with your obvious experience and view points.

in terms of MM's in my opinion FR101 is indeed correct with the below comment. I know for a fact how the MM's work - my two best friends are both MM's working for a well known leading city firm. ive posted about it before on here
What is intriguing and i fully agree with Schiemiel is the DMA sell orders - who, why, purpose, agenda - all do indeed spring to mind ??wish i had the answers
FR's comment below - entirely correct
MMs do not give a muff what the price is, they care about the spread and number of transcations, they will do whatever they can to make a market and increase both. They don't have mates they are trying to get in on the cheap, they aren't pals with the big city folks keeping PIs in the dark, they are market makers - oil between cogs.
