Yep understand that sentiment Strider - it’s a gift from NM with our money (My wife uses the same technique at Christmas time with my money) Yep your right too Monte - NM would be diluting himself but that effect would be negated if he then gets extra options (although we do get to vote on that) This is a debatable topic for sure - but it doesn’t really effect anything what we think - we can vote against Director Options or vote by selling up and moving on- which would be akin to cutting off our nose. I must say FWIW I’m on the fence in regard to director options - employees is fine by me - just a thought a doubt NM is putting Director options through for his own gratification I mean he is minted anyway and more than likely on route to many more riches - I’ve got a feeling these Director options are for others and will serve a greater purpose than more than just extra cash in pocket - but maybe I’m a little rose tinted on this

Indeed it is a fund raise Monte - and for once at a higher strike price (once we exceed that price) Solg benefits, Employees benefit - and excludes the old boys club of the city. I appreciate and understand that it also means eventually there will be more shares in circulation and that has a negative affect on our own personal holdings value. NM makes these moves for a reason - protect staff, incentivise staff, ring fence them from head hunters, align commercial benefit to local communities, provides a cash injection for when it’s needed - remember he is also diluting himself and the big investors. I do get Striders point on the volume (not sure the 3yr period matters that much - as I’m sure these will probably become vested in part each yr - ie end of yr 1 33% become excerisizeable yr 2 another 33% etc - or something along those lines) Of course it could just be that BHP or Another are about to make a massive offer and NM sees this as a way of providing a parting gift to all employees (I doubt it’s this but could be) My overall point is often there are reasons which are not always instantly obvious for these manoeuvres So I guess we all still get our rewards eventually but a tiny fraction less for each of us PI’s to have a highly motivated team working for ‘Us’ Right I’m done on options now - off for a beer - cheers

Strider - you seem very aggrieved on the share options situation - your prerogative as an investor and many will no doubt share your view. Mine is a different one which is my perogative, I want all Solg employees to benefit by the vast wealth creation which is taking place, I’m sure local communities may also be aware that a sudden influx of wealth could sustain their local community economics for many yrs to come (creating the pro Solg affect), I don’t want my Geos enticed to other local exploration companies and any that are would instantly forgo their options, I want the whole team incentivised to drive the SP as high as possible over the 60p option price - because when they benefit I will also benefit. Of course if you are anti options you could raise your concerns to Solg, you could diversify and invest in alternate quoted companies who have no options in existence, maybe they pay bonuses only from working capital as the ability to pay bonuses from profit would be rare in exploration companies who have no profit streams. I get it may be the volumes of options which concerns you but the granting of options per-say is not something that I share your view on.

Earthling to make serious wedge with hedge funds you need to run one - not invest in it. Fees are sky high which they charge you regardless of performance and then they will charge you a huge % on any performance growth - often not achieved but what do they care as they have your fees regardless. Just my two pennies FWIW - apologies if we have any hedge fund managers here - you thieving ........

And yes Strider it does have a dilutive effect on us PI's - but it does generate more funds for Solg - which one hopes is used to make the SP go higher - and it also is an incentive for the employees to drive the SP higher. So I personally have no issue with employee share options. (The Directors options is a different matter and each PI will have their own view on these).

Geo's in Equador are going to be extremely sort over and indeed will become a commodity in their own right - Solg needs to retain them within Solg, we doint want them leaving and hence the granting of options to aid with this.

Strider - the company (Solg) is in effect saying that they expect the SP to be in excess of the 60p share option price. Its only when the SP is in excess of the option price that the Option bares any value to the holder.

Each employee may have an option value of £170k - but they only profit on the difference in the option price and the SP price at the time of executing. - so if the SP was £1.20 at the time they exercise their option - they would indeed profit to the tune of £170k

More likely is they would exercise at say 70p - and so they would make 10p profit - if they had 100k options they would make £10k profit - if they had 1m options they would make £100k - on 1m options they wouldn't make 70p which would be £700k - £600k would go into the company coffers and £100k would go into the pocket of the option holder (example being 1m options at 60p exercised at 70p)

Forgot to add the broker will charge a small commission for doing this - they however are not at risk as the 2 transactions happen in milliseconds - and they would only action the transaction if they have a buyer for the option which is about to be converted into stock at the prevailing SP price

Strider they (the employee or holder of the option doesn't need to pay out of their own pocket) the holder of the option doesn't need to stump up the money for their option.

A broker will execute the trade for them - In a single (or actually two very quick transactions) They buy the option on your behalf - they then have stock (which has been converted from the 'option') they would then sell in milliseconds at 80p - recovering the buy cost and also capturing the profit in the difference.

Just say your the owner of an option at 60p and the current SP is 80p - you exercise your option - basically instruct your broker to sell your option at 80p - somebody out there in the big wide world then buys your shares/options at 80p that's what creates the money that pays for your 60p option - however you as the owner of the option only pockets the difference 20p. - You don't pocket the whole amount as you never actually owned the 60p stock - you just had the 'option' to sell it at a higher price.

If you was fortunate to have the money at hand you could buy your option at 60p - you would then stump up the money (prior to the expiry date) basically at the point where you buy your own option - you are then at liberty to sell it at any time as you are now the stock owner.

If the SP never exceeds your option price - you don't have to execute the transaction - indeed why would you as you could buy the actual stock on the free market at a cheaper price

It can be for both reasons Chesh - don’t be fooled by my humorous persona. My family (same as millions of others) have been affected by cancer and the loss many suffer is real and tangible. Now I’m no saint and yes I am here to make money and big money to be honest - but I do draw comfort that if those big pound notes never materialise maybe in some way the small sums I have invested have helped in some minuscule way to help the fight. Now I don’t get that same feeling from investing in the next prospective oil gusher do I

Solgfinger my friend, there is always plenty going on in the background your spot on with that. I’m as desperate as the next faithful investor to know exactly what’s happening - hole 64, Aggy, Regional News,Trivino, Irwin lumping up on CGP, BHP’s next move, other major interest, next yrs drill plan, options for all etc etc etc and that’s the point - it’s all positive - we will be told when we are told, always the last to know - but I haven’t rode this winner for this far for this long to jump out of the saddle for the final furlong - ignore the swings ignore the occasional post from some poor dilliusiomal nonsense poster (we’ve had our fill over the yrs) stay strong and we may never need hunt for the next big story stock again (unless the inclination takes us - which it will for most here as it’s in our blood) anyway enough ramblings - GLA

Castaway - and others. Wish you all well with your investment here, really do think it will come good and has the potential to be a star performer in the future. My personal preference however is for the money I had invested here to be invested in an alternative vehicle/stock which I believe will provide a quicker return.

No AIM Investment is a 'sure' thing but do believe that VAST are doing their best to move this business forward with the aim of eventual mid-tier status.

No Ill will but I have made the decision to sell the remainder of my holding (which I did earlier today).
