Fair enough Qalibashi, of course I have no evidence or indeed real thought process that Chris didnt write that article.
from my own point of view only though - my interpretation of the tone was one of somebody using him as a conduit to voice their own standing
Im not sure as a proud journalist though he'd be entitely happy with that piece of work - i hope he does indeed reflect and come out with the parts to answers and maybe balance his editorial, who knows maybe he'll even correct his errors (Strider rightly pointed out even the layman amongst us can clearly see)
Glad Chris, still supports Solg - although how NM and team now feels towards Chris will of course be debatable - if Nick (CEO of a potential mining goliath) and Anna (who presumably falls into line under NM's direction) wouldnt engage with Chris (the journalist) previously or answer his requests is beyond me - but they are sure as hell not going to engage now !
Maybe NM wouldnt respond to his original requests as they felt he was in some way biased (Maybe they have been vinducated in that stance but his recent article)- the tone of his report would certainly 'not' indicate a totaly independent view. Single sided would be an understatement - he has nailed his colours to the mast - which is fine - each to their own.
Anyway - its all conjecture on my part - as full of errors as that piece of work is, probably mirrors a few errors of my own. Im a mere investor casting my own thoughts.
But im posting in a chat room - which grants me the grace of an error or two. Im not sticking my musings out there as a professional jouralist.
As you can tell Q - that article has annoyed me
DG
Hi Everyone - hope all are well.
Exciting week - have my popcorn at the ready and front row seat to watch how the game is going to progress.
NM playing a blinder here (CGP up in arms - feathers ruffled (or so we are led to believe) maybe when the offer sinks in a bit and knowing they will still have all of the upside to come with their new Solg stock - maybe they wont be so ruffled - 50% voting against - well that was a quick ring round on the morning of the offer, more like a guess id say !) - cheap offer or very reasonable, everyone will habe their own opinion, it seems clear to me this is a play to bring the news of whats going on to the open market (which is great) - Irwin v NM (best buddies !!!) - with lots of shirt-hangers showing their alliegence (Chris Temple - now did you really write that article - Q maybe you can confirm as I believe you are in contact with Chris) - begged NM to consider US market (what a croc of rubbish). CGP making a claim on 3 other tennements (another piece of smoke and mirrors - so we really believe Newcrest and BHP wouldnt have known of this as part of their due-dil - another crock of rubbish) - mud slinging (leave that to the corporate lawers - CGP can stunp up the bill as it will be for them to prove their claim - perosnaly I doubt we will even grant them a response on this presntly)
NM dangling the carrott for other majors to get involved - more than likely.
NM may have consulted both BHP and Newcrest before the offer to CGP - the consortium is formed and together in one way or another they will deal with this side issue of CGP in one way or another.
Either way and pretty much in whatever way this plays out this is WIn, Win, Win for us here - happy days.
I'm sure there will be lots of mud slinging - lots of rubbish thrown around - all just shows what a huge valuable play Cascabel really is - oh and what about all of our other lovely tennements. PEA on the way - Drill Licenses on the way - Financing deals - corporate positioning.......and through all of this the only thing I intend to do is sit tight and wait for my £1+....maybe this year.....probably next year.....but nailed on for some future point in time.
FR101 keep the charts coming mate - glad your in good spirits
SeanHunter - glad your back posting and have made good money - make sure your not out pal for when the big news eventually drops (big chunk in maybe as a consistent and trade a bit for kicks)
And to all other posters on here - keep up the great debate - where are the naysayers now hey - and to think we put up with their nonsense for what seemed like an eternity
Strider, Pad, Byron, Pinot, Cookie, Addicknt, Mog, Earthling, LostAgain and many others - Its coming chaps......this is going to be the biggest winning stock of my life and I hope you all make a huge packet too
DG1 - always reading - but limited with my postings these days
If we get sold - Im rich
If we go to production - im richer (but a little older)
Yep - I’m fence sitting mate ;-)
Have to agree with you mate - I can’t see an RNS doing much for price - seen too many which have given us a short term jump only to fall back, quite often into the red on same day.
PEA RNS could be different as would corporate news.
My gut feel is quite honestly we bounce around at current levels for a while now (happy to be proved wrong to the upside though) - all of that said I still have complete faith that NM will achieve full value here, may take a while yet but this share is going to reward holders (maybe when we least expect it or maybe with even greater rewards a little further down the path)
Did see the £80k after hrs - was that you trimming down a bit again ! Seriously something feels like it’s happening but I’ve long past double guessing
35p did come quick FR101 ! I hope it will hold but not confident enough to take the bet.
time for an RNS to drop in but a little bit early for the PEA which I believe will be a Feb event
Drill permits maybe ? - Core Gold Inc. got their permits through 7 days ago for drilling in Southern Equador at the copper duke exploration - so we know the misnistry of mining are dishing out the permits. Fingers crossed we are next in the queue
JP Initiating at 90p ! maybe they will begin to build their stake - and or would certainly want in on any M&A action.
Time for Solg to fire up the media - Feb approaching and a timely released PEA in readiness for PDAC is a must (in my opinion)
Now Lets be having that bounce tomorrow
DG
I'm very well FR - hope you are too.
Good luck with GGP (I'm guessing that's the growth share your alluding too) - I'm holding there as well and have been top slicing on the way up - my holding is small but not far off a free ride now so fingers crossed for good results.
Fully appreciate that if as an investor or indeed trader that if you feel something is likely to move faster than solg in the short terms that one may choose to rotate some funds to capture short term greater returns. Ive tried it myself on a couple of occasions - sometimes its worked it well and sometimes ive been caught out.
Also the slow decline over last couple of months here has been irritating to say the least, its my belief though we are approaching the cusp of a golden period, its true your 41p Dec/Jan prediction is looking a little stretched right now (but we all know that can turn on a dime - and when this baby moves it can move quickly)
PEA catalyst, Scout drill permits, and any manor of corporate manoeuvrings could light the touch paper - I've also read that JP have a new price target on Solgold of 90p (haven't read it myself yet - but will do some digging a little later) 90p would be great so lets hope that unfolds - could easily be exceeded !
Chart is looking weaker but a swift return to the 39p+ range would be welcome, patience required. My personal belief is we will have some news soon, even if its stop gap news prior to PEA which could be released in Feb (early Feb - is my guess)
I don't think the cup and handle has broken down yet - I had a price in mind of 33p for a breakdown to be confirmed, appreciate however that my own charting skills are very much in there infancy !
Lets hope we have a good week here - stop the drift and maybe add a few pennies
Solg is rock solid Mid/Long term - short term none of us know - eyes on the prize and whatever Investors/Traders decide to do short term I wish them all the very best.
DG
Hi Chaps & Ladies,
Hope you are all well. Quiet period currently - slow drift down expected but not great, however not concerning I hasten to add.
PEA on the horizon - may not light a huge touch paper under the SP but a required step on our journey and could be the pre-cursor required to tick a few boxes required before we get the big jump.
If we get the big jump this year then fantastic - if it comes a bit further out then so be it - and if we do go to production the journey will become more 'bouncy' (for want of no better word) - but the eventual gain could be astronomical (for use of the correct word)
Whatever the outcome and whatever the timescale I believe its all positive. Patience pays - so the saying goes - lets hope it becomes the case here.
Anyway just thought id pop in to say high really - FR how many days to go until the prize award (I set my guess at 36 not because I want it at 36 but because if its higher I'll be able to afford my own bottle ;o)
Good weekend all
Short term traders sells reducing - buyers moving back in - 11p+ would be nice prior to RNS. RNS and we should be into the low teens - then confirmation of flow rates and who knows where we will be ! Not at this oversold level ! The product will supersede the boardroom schenanigans
Its a good read that Hannam report Scrat - just had a second read through - thanks for posting
HNY chaps - i see we have kicked off 2019 in a friendly peace to all men vein !
FR hope the skiing was good
Earthling glad your posting again mate - you defended rigorously through some dark days - i'll always be grateful to you for that - not sure you need to always argue though my friend but of course your perogative
FR's observation could have been towards me - bought low - loaded up - got lucky, But then got overly excited and kept buying bigger and bigger, wouldnt listen when some advised caution, but thankfully things have come good and the journey ahead i believe will be a prosperous one.
Please chill gents, lots of very good posters with fantastic input on this board - not sure FR's meat and two veg has any real impact on the forthcoming Solg journey or indeed to SP - but happy to be corrected if im wrong ! (bit of being humble can go a long way ;o) )
Anyway we are all gonna make a packet here
ATB DG1 (A less frequent poster these days but im solg through and through :o) )
Happy NY ML and all - any signs of life here - lets hope 2019 is better for Geo than 2018 (surely it couldn't be worse) - he says awaiting - the 'oh yes it can' chorus of panto season
Manash - what’s the name of your independent stockbroker in the city of London, ? They are clearly incorrect - many companies are dual listed - tax would only be due in the country where you purchased the shares. And then only on profits - and then only after capital gains allowances are taken into account, and then only once an investment had been sold, and then only after loosing stock positions are offset against the gains Furthermore anyone buying in an ISA will have no tax to pay in any country ;-) Merry Xmas one and all - keep an eye out for anybody trying to ‘incorrectly’ run our investment down
Cookie - think you meant not 'unrealistic' - or maybe not ? - yours is £1.32 ;o) etched in my mind :o)
I believe £1.50 is achievable - if it will be achieved or not is all a guessing game - timescales / how the chess game progresses / outside black swan events etc etc - its all a gamble (qualified/researched investment - call it what you will)
Fingers crossed this share delivers for all holders and we all get to exit at levels that exceed our personal targets - Now come on NM where is our xmas RNS ;o)
Consortium all the way to production - or BHP if they want the lot will have to buy us out through a negotiated deal with NM - no hostile bid. The big boys have shown their intentions and BHP will buy again now off market - Newcrest probably brought from whoever owns some of those 180m shares which came about during the 25p placement tail end of 2017 - why is there a seller ? Maybe because they know NM has this sown up and if he so desires he could take this all the way. Only my musings - if we get a takeout the deal will be negotiated and as such will be huge - total guess at £1.50 but if we go further then those prepared to wait could see a SP much much higher - think of the dividends ! If BHP and Newcrest are both loading up off market then they will want price kept at these lower levels - for now ! And if all that is wrong and we do get an early take out (somehow) then we will still make a great return from these levels. All that is left to do from us lowly PI’s is add or hold (trade if your brave)
Canadian Banks took part in the 25p placing circa 1 yr ago - 60% return in a year - could be a nice profit if one so desired (I can’t take the credit for this very good theory - but it’s certainly one that we should consider - rings of a strong probability to me)
I think its a defensive move by Newcrest - Don't think Newcrest have the firepower to take us out (On their own) and certainly not to compete with BHP if it comes to an auction. Only my musings though - others may disagree
Hi Cookie - another move in the great chess game here today. Newcrest upping their position and doing so prior to the up and coming PEA - now Newcrest are the block-caving specialists so one would think this is a further endorsement of what that PEA will contain - I mean they are probably helping write the thing (you get my gist). 40p Off Market - BHP paid 45p direct. How will this sit with BHP ? as long as premiums are being paid by these two mega-companies its all good by me. Not concerned about daily fluctuations here - markets being hammered in general and Solg actually holding up rather well. Of course I'd like to get back to a rising trend but for now little snippets of info / movement by the big boys is welcome and reassuring
RNS this week ? a little xmas gift from NM - we've had RNS in the final weeks running up to Chrimbo break last two years - wonder if we will hit the hat-trick
DG
Schlemiel - I believe Solg would have a few days to RNS this news - if it happened on Friday - maybe we would expect an RNS on this by Wednesday ? (Only my guess)
Addicknt - CGP (Cornerstone is my bet) didn't they recently pay a legal bill in shares issue (maybe a little short of cash) - and didn't they recently sign a JV with Newcrest - so we know both parties are buddying up or at least in communication.
Mog just posted where I read it - cheers Mog. This is very positive in my view
Have just bought £11m at 40p off market trade - who sold them ? And why no Solg RNS ?
