Forgot to add this...….
Do you know how many naysayers I actually remember here...….NONE....! Infact I only see FHBCNA21 as its in my current few pages of refreshes…….
But I do recall....loads of 'Investors'......whom I have the utmost respect for...….and you know what....not all of them have been cheerleaders......but they all have my respect and my recollection.....Pad - Columbo -Lotto -Unic - Bozi - Pinot - BNc -TwoGoals - FilthyRich - Sav - MIssSprinkles - Cookie - Earthling - Eish - The Colonel - and plenty more to boot...……..these are people, genuine and honest - who buy their stock and place their faith in the their research...….cold hard cash paid - they take their chance....and I hope to the high heavens they get their rewards.
Anyway...….here's to the roaring 20's - 2019 was ****e for solg - a pig is a pig even with lipstick on
Phoenix from the flames times now
Gotta be next week....surely.....definitely/maybe - so says Oasis
Well it'll be soon now whatever. Will it move the price ? quite honestly , I've got no idea …...but I really don't care. My own opinion is 20p is far to cheap.....40-50p I'd be happier with and £1+ is dreamland for me.....
Can it happen - (£1+) - well in my opinion yes - will it happen - in my opinion - maybe - will it stay at 20p - not a chance in hell
I have no idea really whats happening in the background - but MRE3 is coming - PFS is coming - BFS is coming - regional updates are coming - so all in all I'm relaxed about things
I've got a big holding now - not quite lost again size - but big enough to make a fundamental difference to my life should the stars align - and if they don't there is always good money to be made in bashing shares - fhcebah21 seems to be doing ok - spouts a lot of rubbish but making a living out of it ;o) - Really 66 posts over Chrimbo warning us of our terrible investment - please...…….give me a break...…..what an absolute pile of rubbish.
Solg has had a bad year SP wise......its not nice.....its not pleasant...….has NM done everything correctly - how the hell do I (or any of us know for sure)…….but the continuous battles on this 'chat room' are comical at best and tiresome most of the time.....and down right unethical at the worst times
Pay your money - buy your shares - invest your money - or sell in part - or sell the lot - provide your input - give your opinion - provide positive information or factual negative comment - but bashing away should be saved for a private forum
Solg will provide a huge return for many here - life changing for some - and life enhancing for others - and I doubt i'll remember the names of the those naysayers, when I'm counting my pile in the future
So bash away...…...but think about the more positive life you could lead...….might even be more rewarding than jumping to the beat of a paymaster....
DG - out
That's very true Earthling - if say BHP wanted it all to themselves (Or anyone else for that matter) then they would have to stump up big time - no longer would we be at risk of a low ball offer - with discussions with a Japanese powerhouse underway.
NM is slowly manouvering this to a check mate position
Still no 3rd party offers for CGP - doubt very much BHP or Newcrest will make an offer - and is there any reason for Solg to make an offer - why pay £'s when in 12 mths time at point of BFS we could buy for pennies. Maybe the Japanese might decide to buy it to have an equity holding as well as a streaming deal - I really don't know what will happen with CGP
Do believe we will see a ramp on regional news though over coming mths
I'm very much looking forward to 2020 as 2019 has been the year of 'value valley' for the buyers - 2020 may be the year for the LTH's (the first of many)
GLA
We would be much higher than the warrants Cookie - as an example a $1b streaming deal - would be worth circa 50c per share or 38p per share - then add in current SP of 20p - gives us 58p - then add in the fact that we would indeed be able to progress to mine construction and subsequent production - (the feel good factor) and Id hazard a guess we would be significantly higher than 58p - maybe more in line with brokers forecasts - who knows !
SP is a pain right now - but those looking to a very bright future
The article that we couldn't reach (or most of us anyway) - has been read by Pob - on CEO and posts on ADVFN
Apparently its a very positive read - below is a small excert
Bullish that the company has an advantageous bargaining position in concentrate contract negotiations given Freeport-McMoran's construction of copper smelter at Grasberg in 2020, limiting concentrate exports post 2023.... and Alpala will produce an exceptionally clean concentrate and the high gold content is attractive to most western smelters".
"...The concentrate market conditions could also help resolve one of the main doubts some observers have over whether SolGold can fund a $2.8 billion construction. "Asian companies are happy with long-term asset level investment", Hofmaier said, referring to the fact that Japanese companies in particular often provide 20-30% of project capex to secure concentrate offtake.
Now is we take a moment to let that sink in - in my humble opinion Japanese companies like Summitomo Metal Mining - are huge - think billions - think bigger than BHP - with access to huge amounts of money - I believe they are a shareholder in IRR - which NM is also a shareholder in (part of the DGR Stable)
Now recall one of the broker notes which mentions off-take / streaming deals - in the area of $1b - now that would fit with 20-30% of project Capex costs
Now imagine our position with circa $1b in the bank - the rest of them muted $2.8b (coming from BHP & Newcrest and maybe 1 other) would seem very plausible
Solgold continue as operator in Ecuador - they have maintained for some time now that they will be in Ecuador for years to come - they already have established great community liaison
Solgold continues to work on the next set of regional discoveries - and we repeat the model over and over again
All conjecture of course and my own interpretation.....but who knows......just maybe the Japanese are coming
Could also be why we only needed a short term buffer of £22m from BHP - no need to release more shares than we need too - and aligns them nicely with Newcrest for a long term 3 way partnership
And who knows could align nicely in time for some of those options which expire July time next year
GLA - just my thoughts and musings - food for thought
Oh and forgot the very question I set out to ask. couple too many in the pub earlier !
If 18.5p (ish) is the bottom - and we are beginning to enter Wave3 (the longest and most powerful of waves) which 'may' be confirmed from 22-23p and upwards (for traders entry) - how far is the possible upside prediction ?
Based on Fib extension upside on a Wave 3
Gotta be better than snipping at each other :o)
Good weekend all
Alright FR101, hope you and yours are well mate - patience is a virtue hey - can see your entry on the horizon in the not so distant future - 22-23p would seem like a great time to re-join the party - based on volume and sentiment. (maybe not sentiment - just logistics of the charts ;o) )
Its easy to see why many get excited in anticipation of a move - yesterday being a point as reference - (me included)
Do we need a double bottom ? (circa 18.5p) - or just a crossing of the downward looking cheese (upper line ?) - (we know I'm no chartist !)
Fundamentals are good - for those looking for confirmation bias on ones own research - but as always and has been the case for a long time now - its a very tough journey. MRE 3 coming within the next 25 working days (but lets not forget MRE1 and MRE2 - were not exactly explosive for the SP (unless you were quick on the sell button)
Short term finance will come at some point shortly (4-8 weeks is my guess) - this will be telling in terms of who participate - and its my opinion that it will be at a current SP premium.
I've got massive hopes / dreams / investment with this share - but its not gonna pay me in the next few mths - might even take a year or two too play out - maybe more for the real big money - and once you can become at peace with yourself over that then daily ticks / surges and drops become somewhat irrelevant
We may get sold - but I have my doubts - if it happens a lot of us will make huge overnight returns which is cool - and if we don't the returns could be even greater, but its not gonna happen today / this week / pre-chrimbo or before our next credit card instalment is due - if that's what is needed I'd suggest this isn't the stock for you.
Solg is 'Massive' - massive potential - massive coverage - huge grades - huge size - huge cost of exploration - and also lets not forget large risk - if it all comes good those invested here in the comping years at these levels will be hugely rewarded.
BN Is a game changer / there are other tenements as well which can (after drilling) change us to the upside in a heartbeat. £350 - £400m is a joke of a mcap - but like your house something is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it - and until that offer is made its all just guess work. If there is no offer then production offers even more upside - SP in the ££'s is a reality - but worrying about todays price is not gonna change a thing
Good luck guys - we need a bit of it- but more to the point is the patience we need right now
FR101 - let us know when your back in mate :o)
Here is another Golden Nuggett from MD&A document - brought to my attention by our good friend Lotto - thought I'd share on here to also get us all salivating !
'All licenses have now been received for Scout drilling at Porvenir. Work on the Tarabita zipline (to carry equipment to different parts of the project) and the Target 15 camp is underway.'
Boom !
Fantastic RNS today (with lots of info in the MD&A document as well)
SP matters not a jot to me right now (obviously I'd prefer it up up and away - but I'm a patient man!)
We know we are going to get two huge pieces of info in the next 6-7 weeks - MRE3 update - which will no doubt take us to 100b+ and also the financing news - finance news is really the unknown piece - Id be confident that it will be at a premium to todays price (market is pricing in uncertainty right now - as it always does)
BN is a game changer - before today we didn't even know we had the licenses - but we do and we've started drilling ! which means Govt is releasing licenses and is back on side (huge tick in the box) - the early results are outstanding (massive tick in the box) - Boot Strap maybe potential (massive half tick in the box)
We know Solg are only going to be releasing news - when they believe it appropriate to release it - SP has been dropping and yet NM didn't think it important to release news that we had been awarded licenses - he doesn't strike me as a man / CEO with too many worries.
I read somewhere that we have 3xnew licenses (I think) - so we could well be drilling on other areas as well - could see early news flow from those sites before too long
This year has been a slog - next year we will begin to rise Phoenix like
Good Luck all
Hi Earthling. all good with me and mine - hope your well too.
I bought at 3.5p, 4p, 8p, 14p - 20p - 30p and even £10k at 46p ! (although I prefer to forget that 46p buy) - Your right though I've backed my conviction on this investment - and hold a big heap of these.
However like a lot on here (I'd assume) I am underwater now - so looking forward to a turn in fortunes. I'd also like to unload a few on any decent rise - been few and far between opportunities for that over the last 8-9mths
I'm confident this will come good - I'm confident on a significant return here - what I'm not so confident on is timescale !
Gotta be news soon would one think - as cash is low - santa rally I hope :o)
DG
Tricky challenging times indeed here. NM cant be that bothered about the SP or else he would up the PR (one would have thought) - he's also one to 'stay cashed up' this hasn't been the case right now, so I personally can only assume/hope he has something up his sleeve.
Solgold 'Tweeted' about Barricks interest in buying a Copper explorer today - my personal opinion is we would be a perfect fit for Barrick - read the article they are not worried about jurisdiction and are looking at South America, if they want to challenge the big Copper boys then Solg could be a stepping stone for them to mount a challenge, not to mention the piles of gold we have.
So is the tweet a message from Solg, to hang on in there ? personally I doubt it - we are beyond the period of Solg caring too much about us PI's, this is a big boys game now - but hang on ….why tweet then - a message to BHP, Newcrest, the Chinese !, I doubt it again as these big players have their finger on the pulse and hardly need a tweet to inform them that their are indeed deep pocketed suitors out there.....so again, why the tweet ?
All in all the Ecuador situation, CGP mess, lack of new licenses has done for us this year - compounded with Copper having a bad time. All is not lost though, Ecuador needs our dollars, CGP want to be sold, Licenses should be forthcoming (if the new Mining authority pull their finger out - get the concessions map sorted and start playing ball, Copper should also correct upwards but playing the commodities game is a challenge at the best of times - as most here are only to aware of)….so better times lay ahead.
I hate the news blackout - call it what you will - the rock chip samples - and RNS's releases that are regulatory compliant only ! but that's the way NM has chosen to play it - goes back to my first point, if he was that bothered about SP he does have circa 10,000 core samples per month he could report on from the last 9 mths of so !
Newcrest seem to have cooled a little on Solg - their annual report sited x 5 Tier 1's - but Newcrest are only a shareholder in Solg, they don't own us - so maybe they don't report in their annual report on all of their significant holdings, BHP we are lead to believe are still standing next to us shoulder to shoulder - so any monies we need shouldn't be that hard to procure, they may want in cheaper, but we do hold a streaming card now, which may force the price of any raise up (25p-30p anyone ?)
All in all - its been a ****e year for Solg SP wise - but who the hell knows whats going on behind the scenes
2020 is Solg's year (he says timidly - being wrong on the last couple of yrs !)- I only need to be right once though :o)
Bought another 32,653 Solg today
Good Luck guys and gals
Cheers BNc,
Have missed your charts mate.
Would you believe I was sharing an old spreadsheet of yours (with a fellow investor) - showing potential retracements levels on a Wave 2. This was from a couple years back which you kindly shared. You may recall it. Your theory was that we could indeed retrace to 21.5p support level or indeed 18.5p which you called a critical support level (pretty damn close in my book considering we were riding high at about 40p at the time !). What may be of interest to some here was your predictions of the rise (should the wave 2 play out - which it has (or at least seems to have)) - the prediction was arise to 96p (circa I can’t remember the exact number) if we went down to the 18.5p level (which we did). There were higher levels as well for the rise dependent on the extension ratios
So my old friend, firstly thanks for your new squiggles and here’s hoping that your predictions of a couple of yrs back now play out on our Wave 3 ride upwards
DG
You've been consistent with your £1.32 Cookie over the years and fair play to you mate.
So we've been through rather a sticky patch and have no doubt lost a lot of long termers (real shame), its the transfer from the impatient to the patient, the PI's to the Insto's. To my knowledge none of the Instos have been selling (Blackrock etc).
In my humble opinion we are hugely undervalued right now - Im keeping fingers crossed for a swift rise back into the 30p's and its my bet it will happen this qtr. Licenses, Financing, CGP all to come short term. The streaming of £1b as a form of financing should NM decide to go down this route would light a fire under the SP for sure, and if Newcrest or BHP wanted to increase their stake or indeed make a much bigger play it would be my thinking they'd want to do it prior to Solg getting wedged up to the tune of a billion or so !
My own opinion is that NM still has aspirations of taking this to production though - boot strapped. He may well pull it off as well, for NCM or BHP to take us out its going to take an awful lot of money.
Last six months or so weve been through the mill a bit - problems in Ecuador (seem to be clear now), Copper price has been hammered a bit (seems to be on the turn upwards now), Licensing (Water stamp element) delayed due to a non-mining friendly individual in charge (now removed and replaced - so fingers crossed licensing to be sorted shortly), and of course on top of all of this we are running short of funds.
But through all this - Solg have gone about their work, socially building their pedigree with local communities, adding cica $8b in terms of metal recovery, taking Alpala to $80b + and MRE 3 will no doubt take us to $100b+ - what an asset that is !
So in summary - its been a tough old slog of late - but my feeling is the end of the gloomy period is in sight.
Good Luck all, just thought id drop in, dont have the time to post so much these days - but still got my holidng in full and have even increased it a bit through the last few mths
DG
Very well Filthy and the summer is just about hanging on in there, although I did escape to hotter climates with the family for a chunk of it.
Of course you could indeed be correct in no major boosts until next year - wouldn't worry me - I'll still be holding come August 2021 (I'm in for the big bucks only) - however even a smallish move and return to upwards momentum could well precede any major boost.
CGP are low on options if they reject Solg - Newcrest could of course make a move (October handcuffs are off) - but my opinion only is that they are in bed with NM and no offer will be forthcoming - that would leave a 3rd party bid (Rio ?) which would certainly put the cat amongst the pigeons and cause significant competition for Solg. The offer would be for a share swap - so its a shame we have been delayed on permits, hence why its important those permits drop and those drills get turning - initial results could come back sooner (of course concede that to scope out in further detail would of course take mths), which would/could give solg SP a rise and make the swap appealing for CGP
Agree on PFS timescale - could indeed slip - but lets stay positive and give them the benefit of doubt that they bring it in on time.
Tend to agree on MRE3 in terms of SP movement - the market knows the size and scale - what they want to know is the how & cost / financing source and cost to shareholders - however MRE3 is going to contain nearly a years worth of drilling and cataupult us into the top 3 prospect mines in the world - which will only add to that final payday when it comes.
Hope your get your 21p mate - honestly I can see it happening - but don't be to sharp on the sell at 26p, I think you may well be able to stretch a few more pennies out of that trade
ATVB - DG
HI Filthy, Hope you are well.
Also a hello to all the LTH's here.
Tough times right now, nature of the beast I'm afraid, as NM said (if you believe in Nick) - we are in the Value Valley right now, I tend to agree with him.
Catalysts - we need our drilling permits. Nick mentioned for holders to 'keep their eyes peeled for some news' could this be in reference to our long awaited permit awards - fingers crossed. Would be nice to get these in before the AGM (AGM is this Friday I believe)
Another Catalyst could be a formal offer to be made for CGP (Warren seems warmer of late to Solg - a simple change in tone has occurred, could this be a prelude to a deal coming to fruition ?) - The AGM needs to approve the shares which would be offered to CGP (I think - don't hold me on that point) - so maybe soon after the AGM we could see movement on the CGP deal.
I believe Newcrest and or BHP - would very much like to be working with a single BOD's - so the consolidation of Solg & CGP would be very welcome from the shareholders (although some may disagree)
Licenses would allow us to stick some drills into some of the fantastic other tenements we have - which would add value to Solg shares - which in turn would make the CGP offer of a share swap maybe more enticing
Additionally we have MRE 3 rapidly approaching - 20% growth - 30% growth - none of us know for sure - but i'm inclined to think its gonna be impressive
We do have the small issue of a fund raise required - but NM has already indicated that Newcrest and BHP could be supportive - and who's to say that a premium raise wouldnt happen - its my belief the raise will happen shortly after the AGM - and i'll stick my neck out and have a pure guess at 30p
Then we have PFS Q1 of 2020 - now that will come around quickly. I'm sure the bigger financing disussions are well underway with our new boy who has now had time to park his bum on seat and get his feet under the table - however my own view is that his financing discussions will have commenced long before he actually took his position - I'm sure he will be well incentivesd to get a deal done.
So there are a few catalysts to look forward to in the near and medium term future - all could indeed kick start us back up to a positive trajedectory
Copper price has been in the duldrums - but that will change - but maybe not until the latter stages of 2020 - which indeed could eventually prove to be better timing for a future perfect storm. Gold has offset the drop in Copper somewhat and has helped with the overall financials / the beauty of having Copper & Gold - with a little dollop of Silver (which is on the up also)
So yep times in terms of SP are somewhat grim right now - but there are plenty of catalysts on the horizon which could/will bring happier times to those who can ride out the storm
DG
We had a good yr 2016 though ! Next yr - MRE3 then maybe hang on in there for MRE4 - BFS end of 2020 - maybe slip into 2021, 15 rigs a spinning might get a result or two through once the CGP holders have been screwed a bit, any French translators need a job - google translate must be out of action- maybe a bit more dilution, maybe next yr rodders, or maybe 2021 once an EV or two needs some copper or indeed we get a license for our ‘go for gold’ strategy after Ecuador authorities sign the ‘final stage’ permits - then those ‘multiple exits’ will be so swift we just won’t know which one to choose ! Until then though we just need to keep the faith and a slightly lighter investment account balance. GLA DG
Personally BNC I like the multiple word answers - sentences are great and a few paragraphs are fantastic

Just old school I guess
Still holding 100’s of thousands of these and pleased as punch to be able to add at these levels

Yep and my circa 82k shares was shown as an unknown - deffo a buy though. Good strength now after this mornings profit taking. They could well raise funds next year, when is the unknown - however they wont be looking to raise at these levels. A persistent seller through the early part of this year seems to have taken the price down - seems to have cleared now though.
Traders are heavy in this stock would be my guess - they have driven the price down with sells this morning and will now buy back in harvesting their additional 10% shares - way of the world and really have no problem with it. A news drop would be nice but feel we are reasonably well supported here with Nickel price and coming up from a heavily oversold position. Bit of patience could see some heavy rewards. All my opinon.
Cheers Slubby - and good luck to you. Good stock to be positioned in right now.
