Your right about FNV though they are certainly not worried (should the company be sold) as they have an investment at the 'Asset' level not in the company - if the company is sold (cheap or fair value) they either keep their streaming deal or its bought out (depends on what the buyer wants to do with FNV)

In terms of if the company was to go into insolvency (not that I think that would happen as surely FNV would stump up another bridge loan) I believe the company assets would be sold by the administrators - what would happen to FNV's deal though I'm not entirely sure - I've heard different opinions on this - and believe its being looked into. Maybe someone on here knows ?

I do hope that if the company was to go under that FNV would lose their money and investment as well......as it would certainly endorse their DD and commitment on 'SOLG' - but if it's that their investment is safe whatever the outcome/ future of 'SOLG' then we should be aware.

I'd love to know 100% either way - happy to listen to opinions on this

Maybe more to it than just the takeover rumour - plant the seed that a 'cheap takeover is coming' - plant the seed that the action is 'imminient', position that an 'action group is needed' form a group so the PI shares can be counted quickly.

Certainly beats trying to tot everything up on a piece of paper - get others to do it for you

Who knows the truth behind it, the current board have been slow, they do communicate poorly, they haven't whipped up the excitement, and the diminishing SP feeds nicely into the conspiracy theories

Yep Addicknt - he certainly retains the ability to stir the pot - however with each and every passing attempt to whip up a frenzy which comes to nothing diminishes the respect of those who tend to hang on each and every word/direction he gives

I'd agree with that ET - I think entry here with a reasonable timeframe in mind could do very well

As for my summary - it was just my thoughts, we all have differing opinions and sometimes the same opinions just presented in different ways - and thats cool.

Lets all try to play nice on here - and just all remember that if others opinions differ to our own it doesn't automatically mean they are wrong, if sometimes posters are down on the stock it doesnt mean they are trading or have sold out or indeed are stupid not to have sold down/out it just means they may be feeling down on things - or indeed the reverse of such.

Nobody has all the answers, nobody knows how this will all play out and nobody will be entirely correct or spot on with every single one of their posts.

I respect everyone on here and applaud their contribution - would just urge / encourage us all to be open to both sides of every point of view

Some excellent posters shot down from time to time......always been the way on LSE - it's why I don't post on here very much anymore the finger pointing, politics and nonsense drowns out the good stuff

I agree its not great airing your dirty laundry and if I was the rest of the board I'd be pretty angry at the comments - so I agree with you entirely.

I doubt he would win an EGM doubt he has the votes to win it - and actually agree with RK that masybe the board booting NM is rather more plausible (if that can even happen)

I think I mentioned before I'm not aligned to either Nick nor Scott per say - Indeed I'm not convinced I trust either of them , early in the journey I thought Nick was great crusading for the private investor and battling off the big boys - its apparent now that his allegiance is pretty much to himself though (not bad I thought if I can ride on the coattails and make money) but would I put him back in the hot seat - no not personally.

Scott I really like to talk with - I find him genuine and engaging and don't doubt he'd like very much to extract full value for all of us.....however I'm not blinkered to the fact that if that cant be achieved that the point in where he might settle could well be considerably lower than 50-60p or a 'buck' .......Indeed I'm not blinkered to the fact that at 68 he may well be growing a little tired of the whole shooting match, tired of dealing with the likes of Mather and tired at being shot down.....also I'm not blinkered to the fact that Scott is very likely to be a proxy for Bob and Bob is a cold hard business man. If Bob can get out at say 25p - who's to say that he hasn't got his next investment linned up to invest that capital within.

So i'm keeping an open mind on all of it - but I do believe a low ball could happen (from there who knows) - it would suit a whole heap of people - some who can get out making a lovely amount of money, some who will want to re-attribute that money and for the buyers achieving the low entry they would desire - and I'm not convinced by the arguments that state it can never happen.

Then consider where the other 1.59 billion votes are

Highly likely (or worth of consideration if highly likely is read as conjecture) - that Nicks votes reside in this pot of shares

nick didn't 'rush' around - but he certainly asked for a pen and paper within 5 mins of arriving - he wanted a list of holders names, telephone numbers and holdings - when i asked him if it was because he planned an egm he said no you only call an egm if you are sure you can win it - but the list is important so i can call on support of pi's whenever i need it - he spoke of 100m shares being held by pi's in the uk he felt would be supportive and that this number could make all the difference !

Chinese buying on the quiet I could well buy into (excuse the pun)

The time it has taken to address the Chairman position could have been a contributing factor to the SP decline and indeed many funds have rules against buying into companies without certain corporate structures - lack of Chairman being one

I'd disagree that we 'cant be sold cheap though' - however yours is a personal opinion and I respect that. I believe if we tally all shares that are voteable it could be a pretty closely run vote - although I'd like to see some accurate models run on this taking into account some major holders maybe surprising us with the way they would vote v's long term opinion on how we may have always thought they would vote.

I certainly agree that it's a possibility that as a Tier 1 - it becomes a competitive scenario - but don't feel thats a certainty as some would indicate it is

Scott holds 30m options at 17p at 25p he bags £2.4m Plus he owns 19m shares - at an average lower than 25p so some more gravy on top....(my numbers are circa so lets not get beat up over a penny or two being wrong) - Bob makes very good money at 25p, So does Middlekoop, So does WI who has been wanting out for years. Jiangxi want it as cheap as possible (if they are bidding as would anyone else) - the current SP makes a once unthinkable low ball offer suddenly loom into view as a possibility......whatever happens after that point can be debated all we like - nobody knows for sure

They are not technically Treasury shares - they are shares owned by 'Solgold Canada' - Solgold Canada is just Cornerstones legal entity renamed

They were referred to as Treasury shares by the company in previous reports - but in the last couple of reports they changed the wording

These shares can be voted by the board - so that's circa 5%

Revisit your maths Redknight and count Jiangxi / Newmont / CGP / Bob Sangha / Irwin - I would think the count is closer than you might think

Agreed its a first class asset - however as we all know its going to cost a great deal of money for a block cave (not impossible and not insurmountable), one of the de-risking elements is to bare the cost of the current development stages via Franco - (granting them the future streams on the gold only / copper being kept back for the additional monies they may/will need) - but in doing so they are making the barrier to entice a bid lower. They need to make it a lower entry as nobody will take the carrot at a higher price - they tried and it failed.

The core of my debate here is not the asset / nor its Tier 1 status, nor the fact its the only Tier 1 not in a majors hands...its this.

I believe there is the very real and present danger of Cascabel being sold cheap - my 20p is an arbitrary number - you could insert 20p or 30p or anything in between ( my own consideration of cheap) - I believe that there are many investors who would walk away at that level and not look back in anger - So there is real risk that LTH's here who have higher averages are in very real risk of loosing money.

I don't believe we will definitely get additional competing bids (and I'm sick of hearing BHP will come in over the top) - although of course I'd love that to happen. If there was genuine interest in Cascabel then would we have not thought that one of our many suitors just waiting in the wings would have begun building a position by now.

- can’t be easy as BHP lost interest in this yrs ago so supporting Nick is gonna be interesting

- needs BHP on side if he has any chance of dethroning Scott

But didn’t sound in any way like he was trying to keep SOLG from BHP clutches - more like trying to rekindle any form of interest from them

Nick knows this is going for peanuts - a culmination of poor mgt over the yrs and an ageing team in place looking to exit and retire - and their exit target is whole lot lower than what many on this board think it’s going for
