("Alternative Energy" or "the Company")
APPOINTMENT OF UK DISTRIBUTOR
Alternative Energy Limited (AIM:ALR), the Singapore based provider of clean
energy solutions, is pleased to announce that it has entered into an exclusive
distribution agreement with Alternative Energy Distribution Limited ("AED"), a
UK Company, for the distribution of its energy saving products, and in
particular its range of eLumen and eLumen8 LED lighting, throughout the UK.
The distribution agreement is for an initial period of one year but runs
thereafter from year to year upon AED achieving its sales targets. Initial
sales targets for 2011 have been set by the parties in the distribution
agreement at US$5,000,000 per annum and AED has now placed its first orders
with the Company on behalf of its UK clients.
AED is a specialist lighting and energy saving company formed to distribute
AEL's branded products in the UK which was set up and is wholly owned by
Michael Kane, Tony Crawley and Dave Tilley.
Dave Tilley has over 30 years experience in the public and private sector,
specialising in lighting management and supply chain solutions. Over the past
few years he has been a board member of the Electrical Distributors
Association (EDA) and a committee member of Lightswitch (Carbon Trust) and
Sustainalite (Recolight), as well as a regular speaker at the Electrical
Contractors' Association (ECA) national conferences. He recently presented a
WEEE - Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment - Directive paper at Earls
Court and was a lighting efficiency judge at the 2010 Lighting Design Awards.
For the past few years he has written articles for Lighting Magazine and is
now the Lighting Economist for the new lighting industry journal: LUX.
Tony Crawley has worked for 30 years in the electrical contracting industry,
working closely with some of the world's leading manufacturers through his
family-owned electrical contractor business which has been trading for 50
years.
Michael Kane has over 20 years experience in the communications, defence and
alternative energy sectors, and controls a group of companies representing
some of the leading manufactures in the above sectors. He has been involved in
alternative energy projects for 15 years, particularly working in the
development of energy efficient mobile transport and energy storage systems in
collaboration with a number of international engineering companies.
