AS this person has posted to day.. These claims are hard to fathom...really? The Tanzanian government is just being a bit Zimbabwean and outing the owners so that they get to keep the mine and all of its output without having to pay for it. Not exactly rocket science is it?

The main reason why Acacia did not pay corporate income tax for so long was the terms of the original mining agreement (as OpenOil explains [pdf]). It allowed for the company to recover all its costs, plus an additional 15%, before any tax on profits was due.

should 1 close the minds, and just do maintainance on them. 2 get rid of all the workforce, on the understanding that they will be employed when the Problems are sorted out This would save a lot of money, and If this failed to sort out the problem aca just sells the minds and moves, A SIMPLISTIC WAY OF LOOKING AT THINGS :-)

From what i have reed and my thoughts only are that the government just want to take over the mining and own the lot. If you look at other countries that have tried to do simaler things they have just F***** the up and what was a good income for the government has allmost dissapeared. Please correct me if My thinking is way off beam.
