Gab, for what it is worth I think Cathal was trying to manage expections and quell, without being direct, any unwarranted and unevidenced speculation about future earnings potential etc. His original business case and timelines were looking for circa 18p per share buy out, once profitable. I think it is important to note that he never stated anything other than to do up the company, sell and move on. He has ever stated aspirations to build a huge company, although the recent comms on increasing lab capacity seem to be at odds with this, given the cost reduction strategy he was delivering on track.
The reason I sold down by 90% last week (yes i missed big gains in doing so) was because the SP had risen to overbought levels off the back of a large seller clearing and some serious ramping. The share was trading on an overbought RSI for nine days after all and was always going to come back.
In my years of investing I have never come across a CEO/Chair so in tune with retail investors and I think it is fair to defend him because the sentiment on this share overtook his timescales for delivery i think. Just my opinion Cheers DJ
