As with all these over-simplistic dichotomous ways of looking at things, I believe we'll end up somewhere in-between in the 'grey area'.

That's why, as a finger in the air, in my humble opinion the broker analysis/target price (average prediction of about 40p) is as good as any other predication I've seen. I'm not expecting any more SP appreciation than that over the next 2-3 years.

Just a nuance to what you said: Hedgies get paid to make money, whether the outcome is heads or tails. And they work over a timeframe, not on the basis of an absolute, binary, outcome for a business.

Simples.

If/when it starts going up no shareholders will feel sensitive to anyone they dislike or disagree with any more.

Great summary. Personally, I'm looking forward to September which I believe is likely to be the start of SP stability and gradual incline.

You never know. Trouble is it's a real slow-mo startup - everything is well-known and the value is probably very easy to calculate over several years.

Hence I kind of tend to trust the liberum and other target prices of around 40p as the best guide for the sp over the next couple of years.

I think the Norway investment is a huge vote of confidence and I can't think they'd be investing for anything other than strong and reliable dividends over the long term.

Think the answer in the medium term (1-2 years) more new money coming in due to the promise of those divvies. And that in itself will drive the marcap up.

I think I need to get off this forum, trust in the strong tailwinds now in place, and come back same time next year.

For the sp to rise / total marcap to grow, surely it needs more buying by new investors like the Norway state fund.

What is going to draw in that new investment, now the funding certainty is so much higher? Dividends? Or just that it's a safe place for the money? Or...?

I understand the LTH appeal to switch more funds to SXX from other investments, but what about other types of investor?

Apologies if this is a stupid newbie question.

Sold all the remainder of my BT.A and iH2O etf a week or so ago and bought SXX with it. Riskier yes, but I think justified.
