I've actually broken plan and sold em all this morning at 639 as felt the 4% gain will fall back and better to have in hand. Gift horse and all that. If it drops to 2% gain then I'll pile back in probs. Good luck all x

Ha Ha - Whoops - I meant 650-660 natch!

I was hoping for a rise to 550 - 560 2 days before ex div without factoring in Govt policy. If today's rise holds then I am now hoping for 675 when I will most definitely sell and maybe pick some up again after BoE meeting minutes has had it's effect a couple of days later. Still, a lot can happen between now and then.....

More like Carnage! Well at least ex-div occurs before next BoE meeting minutes due on 02/11/17. I will have left this ship by then and will likely hold the cash for a few days to see what happens.

Hey noggers - keep on keeping on - I like a bit of an opposing view - all part of the debate. As it is month end, end of holiday season and full steam ahead for the final quarter of the year, using science*, I predict further 10p rise today as all the cards are shuffled for the month ahead - here's hoping anyway. I reckon they will hold off the rise until after crimbo otherwise it's all doom and gloom on the high street in the run up. Just a hunch natch.

Hi Davie, You would have thought so but markets overeacted to a hint of a rise - heaven only knows what doomsday scenario they imagine if a quarter point rise actually occurs. Coffee and candle shops closing everywhere. I will jump off before and see what happens

Seems to be following a daily late surge pattern which might be fun for day traders but I am already on board this ship and happy to watch the daily end result. My prediction is a high of 650-660 two days before ex-divi when I will jump off hopefully at a peak before reconsidering my options mid morning on ex-div day - will probably bung half back on and shove half on BWY. Will probably jump off builders before Jan BOE meeting when a quarter per cent will probs be on the horizon. It's a vague plan but hoping for no spanners.
