I guess even if the data is unverified if the short positions were near or greater than ling then thats the time to be worried/excited but I just don't see you'd ever see that information reliably.

13.24 - This is not meant as disrespect at all Dazzle but this kind of data is so thin I's knowledge the general emphasis but don't don't try to search for the holy grail in it. First you can't reliably determine if the data is correct (remember this is still OTC/off exchange), you have no idea how the data is screened / what rules applied. (for example how often do we see negative buys and sells, what does it mean and why is it necessarily...or why does the mid price sometimes reflect the bid or offer..not the bloody middle point between them!) and then the biggest question, what, if any, are naked versus covered. I'm not that up to speed with regulatory changes in the states these days as they have changed massively in recent years but clearly it is possible to naked short trade (certainly for professional institutions and without transparent disclosure) given the GameStop situation where short trading outweighed >100% of the share register.

often shorts can be used if you are writing options as its can hedge your delta...don't get me started on that.
I'm not aware options are written on 88E shares so its also irrelevant.

And because it was asked you have predominantly 2 shorts, naked and covered. Naked is just that you have 0 shares and you sell a number of share therefore an outright negative position. Covered means you own shares but rather than sell and re buy to manage your position you can sell 0-100% of you shares with short positions. they and covered I that if the price goes up the long shares are worth more but the short share costs you money...and visa versa. It's a hedge because (whilst holding stock) you actually become less sensitive to market volatility depending on the short to long ratio. so shorts can be seen as effective risk management positions (particularly if you're a larger investor/ institutional where something may occur and you become less positive but you don't want to sell a large quality of your holding which would increase supply and therefore depress prices in a self fulfilling prophecy or (if outright or short to long ratio greater than 1:1) are a negative bet on the share price. The former is sensible and most wouldn't have a problem with, people don't like the latter even though it can be useful.

11.21 - Shorting is part of the market and if you look at fundamental market efficiency its a necessary evil. Removing it effectively makes the street 1 way and will cause more manipulated 'booms' and barriers to entry.

10.02 - its not listed on any exchange. its OTC (over the counter) which means its un regulated in the states and the trades are bilateral contracts between the broker and the investor.

15.31 - Jiddy, I filtered. Don't trust someone who's English is mainly ropey but every once in a while is spot on...doesn't make sense....

15.26 - I'd hope not a comms error although you can imagine they are pretty busy. Ultimately I'd say if its not completely off the table then they would leave this in as it was part of the original plan even if its a lesser probability, I would.

15.19 - Olddad - I can see where you're coming from here and there could be a number of reasons. I guess the bit we're missing is the drill depth right now, and that could be deliberate. And not unreasonably you're assuming they have completed the 1500ft depth target , cased and installed and tested the BOP today. As others have alluded to, that operational update isn't price sensitive and therefore not a mandatory disclosure in my eyes. What Im saying is that they could have finished the BOP test and been drilling for a number of days already and its actually the payment to ELKO thats driven the disclosure and they added on the operational element as a nice to have.
I could be completely out and they are just a bit behind or taking extra time/cautionary approach to ensure the bore is in the best condition possible.
If I'm anywhere close don't be too surprised if we get a 'TD' RNS overnight/tomorrow maybe with initial indications.
I'm sure you'll be of the same mindset in that, a day here or there is a small price to pay if we get a positive result...as I say, don't sweat the small stuff...

14.04 - Volume shown is in shares...if we think back to a week last Friday it shifted 800m vol. if that was 10:1 ADRs then implies 8bn vol which clear isn't achievable
