I wouldn’t write off the HRZ just yet. Hypothetically if we only had this then the following calculations could be this

In house valuation 3.5 billion barrels
Independent valuation 1.5 billion barrels
Total of 5 billion divide by 2 to get a mean average equals 2.5 billion barrels or it could be calculated another way

310,000 acres net to 88e the HRZ sits on half of icewine roughly on the west side in a moustache shape. Divide 155,000 by 640 equals = 242 square miles. Times that by 42,000,000 oip per square mile is = 10164000000 bb dived by Paul’s b recovery rate of 25% = 2541000000 (roughly the same figure as the mean average) there’s two ways of calculating this figure I know Dave wall wanted between $3 to $5 per barrel, so take the mean average of $4 a barrel and time is this by 2.541bn = 10164000000 (weirdly the same number as the HRZ oip in place per square mile) Now divided number buy shares in issue 10 .5 billion equals 96c or it could be done this way

2.5bn recoverable times ( if brent is $80 by the time we flow the HRZ - break even of $40=$40 profit =100 divided by 10 .5 billion shares equals $9.5 say a company offered to buy us out 10% of that figure that would be $.95c just on the HRZ alone.

Ddraig I agree with the other posters here best chill fella for a while, I’m giving Danial colt the benefit of the doubt here as he/she has expressed what seems a genuine concern of cautious remorse from earlier posts but as Brombarb Keeps reminding us those disingenuous people are like wolves in sheep clothing, never fan the flames with oxygen it only raises the temperature of heated arguments, better to keep a lid on it and starve the flame of a foolish tongue. IMHO we won’t know for sure until 4:30pm to 5:00pm after trading concerning the share price what it will be percentage wise. I don’t blame anybody who bought in last week at a lower price to sell profit or helped average down the shares to get to breakeven or better, that is a good commonsense strategy for those who are prepared to risk. Yes there are still risks with Merlin and harrier, but kudos to Dave Wall For steering 88 energy us in the right direction. I’m sure he’s learning a lot about the Oil business with Eric opstad and co. As much as us investors.

What I’ve learnt over the years is if you panic and sell through lack of knowledge or greed Or not learn by your bad choices/mistakes like the old saying goes a fool and there money are soon departed. As well as angels fear to tread we are fools rush in.

Best keep a calm head when all around are loosing theirs. You wouldn’t wanna go into A& E with the surgeons all panicking because they’re not sure what to do and how to do it would you? Despite them being well trained and knowledgeable they let their emotions get the better of them.

Not sure if it’s for my newly renewed lack of tolerance for the absurdities and mundane, imho and it may seem out of character but for an handful of wiser investors most on here are locked in because of either jam tomorrow and greed or lack of wiser investment knowleadge. I hope some or most have learnt by their lessons investing with AIM casino as there is better and safer longer term steady elephants in the FTSE and the world equivalent with paying dividends attached to some of these. If you have money saved up and are prepared to loose it on a whim gamble for jam tomorrow then your a fool in these times as it is Better spent or invested else where imho. Yes 88e could strike it lucky and change the sp accordingly or it could not, there are only a handful on here derisked for plan b, and kudos to them for getting there as their more options to them. I had my chances to take profit a few times but I still believe in the 88e story of hitting oil, I’ve been in here since Tangier’s days 2012 to be excact. And know the pain and heartache that we have had to endure part technical, part management and part unlucky imho.. hindsight been a wonderful thing looking back I would’ve done a different strategy. I’m waiting for breakeven point to be reached to allow me to have an option of Derisking, it might not get there or it could surpass all expectations...

Ddraig your posts are very informative and technical and you post a lot more than you need to, micro analysing you said in your other post tries to Implement its self willy-nilly perhaps more than it needs to be When criticising or reviewing other peoples reasons to invest or management decisions or how much oil is in there or why things should be.
What’s going on in the world at the moment far outweighs what’s in here as an investment, and I think for most of us if we take a loss it wouldn’t be the end of the world perhaps a big bitter pill to swallow things will reset and move on accordingly. Some kicking and screaming and for some lessons learnt. Nothing is ever 100% guaranteed hence why there are disclaimers on every RNS .

Yep in a nutshell to what was quoted in the link a provided. Simplest way is just bung it in the ISA or (sipp) Put your feet up and relax I’m not worry about the tax man knocking on the door. Would recommend people check out articles on ISA millionaires because they are millionaires for a reason lol. Die mention if and when AE does come good and we go above breakeven into profit and take some money off the table or three curry. I’m going to put mine in a stable FTSE 100 company like legal and general with a dividend of 35p. And have some spare cash spare at all times to average down and with or to free carry. March 2020 was a good time to buy in long-term and or just swing trade and free carry with.. imho

Just to add another matrix myth on bed and ISA. If anyone knows More on this please feel free to elaborate more specifically in the accounting details.

My point is number one if you start with £10,000 start-up cost in your standard trading account and you make £12,300 profit on top= £22300 (you don’t get taxed on your start-up money) You can then put £20,000 cash into the ISA as the cash would not be taxed because it’s within the allowance. Number two if you had more profits on top of your original £10,000 start-up money say £30,000 =£40000 a: anything over £22300 will be taxed before putting money in isa wether you do it your self or phone your broker that left over money can be used as start up cost for the following tax year in your standard trading account as you can only put £20k Max in isa/s in any one tax year ( you can’t put £20k in each separate isa’s in same year, you have to spread £20k across them) For an individual. The rules are tweeked slightly if your married to put into your spouse name to top up etc.. see (.gov.co.uk) for specifics

Daniel 10 I recommend put it straight into an ISA, all tax-free apart from stamp duty which pay when you trade on a share save you a lot of headaches in the future.. check out mine and Brombarb links ASAP research and make a Decision you’re got until beginning of April for the new tax year, so make the most of what you can afford to invest/loose/gamble

Daniel10 I recommend putting it straight into isa ASAP cgt free , divvy tax free etc. if you leave it in normal trading account tax rules apply.. you have an allowance for chat and divvy but cross the fresh hold and you start paying.. watch the links I sent you
