2022 was a year of altered focus for AFC. The liquid fuel cell as deployed in the Extreme E racing series, was considered obsolete having achieved no commercial success and being superseded by the new solid fuel cell. The first manifestation of this, The Power Tower, was launched at the AGM in April 2022 and was mooted as the company's game-changer. The initial offering was a 10Kw hydrogen generator and it was in this format that trials took place during H2 with Keltbray, Kier, Acciona and Mace. As of Christmas 2022 not outcome from these trials had been released by AFC Energy, although the CEO did describe one as yielding irrefutable proof of concept. Whether this was proof of technical success or commercial viability was not defined. AFC released little substantive news during the latter part of 2022.

Can anyone remember what the projected revenue was for this year ?

There definitely seems to be momentum building, there seem to be a lot of long term opportunities and nothing happening short term, the concern as always with AFC is that everything takes so long and we lose out to competition, it’s tough seeing so many competitors striking deals all around us. But, being in the ABB catalogue has to be seen as a big deal, we just need that first indication that we’re ready to go, we also have the £4m order which you would think would be delivered at some point

Anyway, we all know because Shroeders have publicly announced it online that they have been making a killing from AFC. They will know if ABB have the 100kW system, come to think of it, Haggis probably works for them.

If true then chances are Shroeders have been told and are loading up and will sell out after the news drops

Based on previous history Jimmy, maybe you have a short memory and have forgotten all the previous exciting collaborations, partnerships that have come to nothing ?

We’re more likely to be dropped by ABB than be bought out by them considering we’ve got one order to fulfill and can’t even do that.

So why doesn’t AB ever acknowledge that in company statements ? According to AB during the pandemic no staff were furloughed and the pandemic had no impact on AFC whatsoever it was business as usual.

I think the way last year went it might be better not to have it all summed up in a written report, it would decimate the SP. As they say, be careful what you wish for.

If anyone seriously thinks an AFC Fuel cell will be involved you need your head testing, it’ll be 5-10 years before AFC have a prototype the speed they work at.

Even I can’t stand it now and that’s saying something
