ABB delivery delayed for the 3rd or 4th time ? End of year probably. First operation is a long way from certification and delivery. Weird where this order book comes from when only the Speedy order has been RNS’d, 27m of orders is definitely price sensitive and should have been RNSd, I suspect orderbook in AB speak is not the same as what investors believe orderbook to mean. Only £200k of revenue recognised from ABB since the last update, that should tell you how slow progress is. Everything else we already knew about.
Would hardly be surprising when you look at the sale agreement from Nov 2021 and they still don’t have a system,
The Agreement fast tracks AFC Energy's high energy dense "S" Series anion exchange membrane ("AEM") technology with delivery now expected ahead of schedule.
Final system procured by ABB to have nameplate capacity of 200kW and be capable of hydrogen and ammonia fuelling.
200kW system to be engineered within 10ft shipping container (excl. ammonia cracker) illustrating market leading energy density of AFC Energy's alkaline fuel cell technology.
I can think of a number of reasons Oggs, it’s very labour intensive, checking the equipment, delivering it to the customer, providing basic training if needed, collecting the equipment, checking the customer has returned all items, etc. if the cost is too high they’ll just buy their own equipment. Tier 1 contractors have huge buying power so will negotiate hard to get prices as low as possible and can have extended payment terms.

Under the SMA, SHS commits to an initial order from AFC Energy, for delivery throughout the first six months of 2024, of generators at a committed value of £2m with the intention to increase orders up to c.£4.7m across the first full contract year (commencing 1 Nov. 2023).
So just over 3 months left to deliver the first £2m worth of generators.
Would have been nice to have seen the website updated at the same time that it’s available to order now. What’s the delay ? Do you really want to drum up a load of interest with industry who then go back to their offices the following day, visit the AFC website and see that the product you were really interested in isn’t available to order yet ?
