ken, im still not convinced, despite all the predictions, that once this virus buisness is over and the world restarts that oil wont recover fairly quickly. In reality there isnt any worldwide alternative to oil. Its not going to happen overnight though by any means. I move water around as you all know and the basic fact is that once the world storage is full then, no matter what the price is, no more than the demand can be pumped, physically impossible. This will force the russians and all others to drastically reduce their outputs as the world runs down their cheap storage whilst rebuilding virus damaged economies. If your skint you dont keep hoarding stuff that you have lots of already, you use up what you already have first. The russians, yanks, saudis, iranians, mexicans and all the other will have no income at all while this happens, and their economies will be screwed right over.
Not long ago the media and experts were saying the russians and saudis were in for the long haul and could maintain these prices for many years, ten years they were quoting. Very odd that they are getting round the table now and "agreeing" cuts quite so quickly, a month or so later.. They know they cant stand the financial pain despite the BS they put out.
The players in this as i see it all have their different agendas and selling oil to nobody for peanuts doesnt suit any of them, despite what they spout. The separate characteristics of each nation and their wish to appear 'the last man standing' in the game is what i see as important. None of them will stick to the 'agreement' made and will massage the numbers as always, whilst appearing to comply.
Meanwhile the crafty chinese hoard like mad at cheap prices ready to play the quiet long term economic game of dominance that their politics allows, while the rest just posture over the shorter term and dont see the insideous chinese creep around the world.
It will be interesting to see how it all pans out, but find one expert saying one thing and you'll always find another saying the opposite is what life (and plumbing) has taught me.

Well you've picked possibly the hardest time to start investing i recon, certainly some bloody good opportunities out there but a lot of the usually sensible investing rules have gone well and truly out of the window, catching quite a lot of people out. Some good money to be made from new money mind, but tricky to know where to spend it. Sure you'll do OK though, you ask some pretty shrude questions.

As for the 'wobbles' the site has been having im not sure its a reason to bail from here at all, its just a matter of refreshing and looking again, inconvienient but hardly a tough thing to do.

Taking people off the board will reduce the input from people which is counter productive to knowledge sharing, and also reduce input from newer people such as yourself, who would be unable to use a private medium without access, whilst also alienating others who already post that cant or dont want to be involved, for all manner of reasons, not just because (anti) social media is the 'modern' way forward for some.

I mentioned on here a day or two ago my thoughts about running an open forum privately, rather than rely on lse, I've done similar before, im guessing before you were born, and I mentioned its biggest drawback of involvement if such a medium is 'closed' down to just joined members, it cannot grow and is unsustainable. A whatsapp group is just a different version of the same thing with the exactly same disadvantages.

As for the chatting about different shares on here , we do that anyway on the glen bb, a lot of the other bb's moan about it but its very common on this one and works well with people sharing news on different companies all the time, you've done it yourself, and i see no reason at all to go off bb to continue that knowledge sharing. But hey im not the glen board police and everyone is free to make up their own minds and do what they want, this is just my opinion and view on your suggestion.

I just dont want to see the many many good posters on here get sucked into going elsewhere unneccasarily because lse has had a wobble for a few days, that would spoil this board and the support and banter that it provides. This is undoutably the most friendly and welcoming bb to all on LSE and long may that continue.

Ken, do you know what, after cussing the buggers most of the afternoon yesterday i now think your right, im expecting a oil down day on Tuesday after those announced cuts. I just hate sitting on cash, for some reason i just cant do it even when its sensible.

Most of the predictions made in recent years have been totally wrong. i.e. millenium bug, acid rain, referendum, housing price crash, recession, election etc etc etc the list goes on.

not so sure of an oil jump billy, suggested cuts not as much as trump wanted, im guessing we'll see a drop if im honest.

George, just remember to run your car engine for at least ten mins a week with the aircon on, else the seals will dry out and it'll cost mega bucks.. Also move it backwards and forwards a bit on the drive to stop the brakes seizing (park with handbrake off if u can) and the tyres cracking on the sidewalls.
I cant go out for 3 months and as the mot, insurance and tax all ran out at the end of last month ive sorned it and am £100 to the good each month. tight as heck I am :)

Just insured my wifes car with them at renewal. Same price as last year and whilst not the cheapest quote she had they were easy to deal with. Mind you her fully comp price is well less than £200 so hardly high risk

yes Ken im quite unhappy about it. They even emailed me to say it dropped below my buy price but they couldnt action it in time! How long did they need ffs. Dont know what servers their running but maybe they need to plug the things in.
I bet it shoots up on Tuesday as i say, only a small dabble given what i have already but theres no point in paying these sods to do something if they dont.
