Agreed..Good publicity but it would be better if there was an aerial shot showing the Viking Sun now in the Building Dock with Stena Europe...Some dock that we have !! I am informed that the work involved on the "Three Sisters" is quite extensive and not just post Covid necessary updates ( read into that what you will ) but also general maintenance .So on the former we must congratulate John Petticrew and his team ( in particular the renowned commercial expertise of William Duff ( look up his credential on the Web site or LinkedIn ) on securing the deal which involves quite some high speck work on high speck ships and the need for subcontractors of quality and keeping a close eye ( i am told ) on the estimators and costs in what is a fiercely competitive market of course .I posted some weeks ago that we would need to move on in time from looking after local Irish Sea Ferries to something bigger ....was not expecting the Vikings quite so soon --bit of a shock really. Anyhow the pictures are wonderful publicity and it would be nice to follow it up nationally showing what we can achieve despite all the groaners !! Onwards and upwards as they say .Maybe the voyage continues into calmer seas !

From the charts it looks a though 3 not so little white dots are steaming towards Samson and Goliath ..Viking Sea, Viking Sky and Viking Sun --could provide a welcome fillip ( and indeed fillup !!) for the yard and the SP in short term --watch this space -I am not an expert on charts and but I also have it from good authority that we are the destination ....will we have room for all 3 !?? That IS THE QUESTION !!

Great Link Thistime .........need you to change your I.D. to say ThisTimeNextWeek !! We then should be well in the Blue on the basis that we have a team that can progress the most valued heritage that we own ..or nearly own once we pay off the short term debt..with no bad news and the SP near to the entry level of the II's, then now could be a good time to take the plunge,assuming of course that Covid does not come back with a second bite and that you have all confidence in the ML as I do !!

Easy answer ..waiting by our quay for the Building Dock to fill after the sluices have been opened ..takes about 12 hours or so or less ..not aware of any other docking this week --but quite a few in the pipeline ( sic ) !!

Well sourced,Chris........our very own roving reporter ...I respect that news of ferry dockings and ship movements may seem mundane to some on this board ( as opposed to the bigger issues of ML, FID, and finance of the likes of FSRU etc ) but your posts do encourage interest in what is actually happening on the ground in our only active project at present ....good to know that there are "multiple" dockings scheduled !!

Much appreciated ...though I have to say that Ban was and is usually one step ahead here !!

....And there's more !! The Dock Gates for the smaller dock are simply undergoing a 10 yearly maintenance schedule in order that they will be fully operative for when larger vessels need to berth in the Building Dock later on in the year allowing full use of this dock at that time ..no more nor less . Nothing to worry about ..and neither are :
1. PRD and plans for a FSRU in South West Ireland --hardly advanced like as with Barrow which has basic Planning and Sub Seas Surveys sorted and viable connections to the UK market easily achieved by existing pipelines. PRD would supply a much smaller client base in S.Ireland .Not competing with us at all.
2.Reversal of flow of SNIP..this is for the future and is commercially feasible with our colleagues,Mutual, and if required we have the contacts to implement the required installation of new compressors which is essentially the main component .Dualling of SNIP is another matter and not for today !
3. ML... Still not a given by any means but the fundamentals for our prime project remain the same of course post Covid and the pandemic has seriously delayed a final decision with all Government departments under strain.
4.FID ..this follows on but we have prime AI Blue Chip partners still waiting !!
5.....and ..H&W --at last getting their act together,I am told, with a new management team bedded down working well with a long standing and loyal residual workforce.New Web Site shows up what has been and further can be achieved ...lots of contacts being made and the potential is (not without risks ) ...huge ! Stay invested !!

I have personally checked the position with the Company and there is nothing wrong nor any problems with the smaller Dock gates as inferred in the NI Ferries article about Stena Europe’s visit this week .. will report further later but be assured on this !! Stay calm and invested !!

Interesting photo in today's Times of people enjoying the potential of a film at a temporary Drive-In Cinema on what appears to be some of our vacant land .I thought for one moment that JW and team had hit upon another money spinner but the article shows that all proceeds go to Covid Funds Research at Queens University Belfast --not a bad idea and good publicity ...at least the film was not "Gone With The Wind " !!

Marine 82..thank you for the kind comments ..much appreciated. Not sure why it costs more to fill and empty the Building Dock ? Are we on a Water Meter ? Only joking but glad to dialogue this point as any significant costs could wipe out the probable slender margins on "Small Irish Ferry" contracts at this stage --we need to know exactly what the problem and extent of resolution is now that we are aware of the issue !!

Stena Europe is one of the line's favourite now vintage ships.Built as long ago as 1981 in Gothenburg Sweden she is truly an "old faithful". Her recent maintenance history is not without incident. In March 2019 The Turkish Gemek Shipyard secured a contract to give the ship "a life extension "refit. This essentially involved enabling higher density trailers to use all of the ship,not just the port side on the usual route Fishguard to Rosslare. Something went wrong with the contract,something to do with lack of availability of specialist parts ! She did not return to service until early Autumn 2019 .Fancy having to send "the old girl" all the way past Gibralter to the Bosphorous ..should have gone to Belfast .. Anyhow Stena now know better and she will be on her way probably tomorrow as currently she is approaching Fishguard ...by the way, the NI Ferries Site indicates that she will dock in the main Building Dock not the smaller Dry Dock due to an issue with the gate at the latter ..sincerely hope that this in not serious or indeed expensive !! Need to Watch this one.But good news in that Stena are well on board...Stena Europe will be "high maintenance " due to age !!

N.I. needs investment more than ever now ---Bombardier news today !! SS Infa's voyage needs some following winds behind her to shift the mighty ship from the doldrums !!

These will persist whilst Sellers are on board ...we have to set up the plank soon this month before we sight land as when we do we need a fair wind and a good ride to shore !!

It sure has had a significant impact upon our voyage as well as on all our lives .....a bit like a hurricane whipping up the seas to a frenzy and by no means not over yet.Most Government Departments are in a mess including the Probate Section ( delays of up to 3 months as reported in The Times today ),the Passport Office and of course other departments that we know well !....Not sure about good old Daera but hopefully they would have been able to assimilate a lot of the information before Lockdown and still be "on the ball."
News in today that Covid is significantly affecting prospects for Bombardier next door to H&W -They employ just under 3,000 workers.Their establishment is basically a satellite facility for other bigger units elsewhere .JW and team secured H&W on the premis of a plan for increasing the workforce and providing apprenticeships over a period ..he had a plan not just short term asset stripping ..should Bombardier fail then there is more reason for N.I.Gov. support for our project .Covid is a disruptor for sure but here there is an opportunity .Watch this space.
