Very much a Cineworld believer as cited by my posts here and want to keep my shares as I really believe in them.
Just have my slight concerns over any legal action on this cineplex issue? Cineplex were massively down yesterday which suggests to me that we hold all the cards, but I guess just looking for others thoughts. Any concerns about any future ramifications of this (finanically it should be a good move if no big legal repurcussions).

On the positives for me:
1) Cinema works well for social distancing anyway. Allocated seating, people sitting still and not moving about.
2) It is safe and stress free environment for all the family in these times and offers escapism
3) Cineworld already well versed in e-ticketing and cineworld cards and so forth
4) Cinema has survived throughout all of history and will continue to do so. The shared experience of cinema will always offer something Netflix and the like cannot.

Haich, it's some of that but also arbing is a big no no, as it's not really punting. Same applies for late bets, punting on palpable errors etc. You are allowed to win I guess but it's not easy. Won't likely get closed for genuine business but could be restricted. Arbers certainly get restricted.

As for William Hill, I work for Will Hill online. I think the online side has done really well considering the lack of sport fillings the gaps with table tennis, FIFA amongst other things between March and May
The return of Bundesliga too of course too of late.

With sport beginning to return, I'm not even sure had the shops remained shut for a few weeks more it would have made a difference. I have no shares and I'm gutted I missed out when they went to 30 odd pence! Main fear from a share perspective would be any further regulation from the Gambling Commission like you've seen with £2 max stake on FOBTs in shops and the credit card ban online (both of which are for the greater good imo). But looks bright at the moment.

I agree, I think it is easier to social police because it takes care of itself with the seats you allocate. No drunk people around, or selfish shoppers pushing past. It is s safe a leisure activity as you can get and a nice escape too.

Interestingly Cineplex down 17% from Friday close on the back of the deal breaking down. I think that tells you which of the two are are the winners from it.

I'm far from a stock expert so maybe my opinion is wrong. But out of all the leisure options the cinema for me is the one that will be here long after the pandemic is a distant memory. It is something that can still be a pleasurable experience even with social distancing, a safe place for children and families and perhaps most importantly at this time a chance to escape. The other key aspect for me is that cinemas do not need to be running at full capacity to make money, they do of course however need to be open. I am less anxious about cinemas bouncing back, maybe I am wrong here. I am a little more concerned about this deal till we know the facts.

But this stock was £1 last Monday and really has that much changed since then? I do however regret buying some in the 90s but I think long-term cinema is a safe bet. Though I always Jimmy White was going to be a world champion having said all that!
