The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
*my gut
Never a dull moment and I feel like I am always on here and know you all by person now :-) My guy still tells me to back Cineworld so I sticking that way.
Funny how news can change things quickly. Boohoo absolutely flying with their SP, on the front page of tomorrow's Telegraph for slave labour conditions in factory in Leicester. Might have some impact.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone, in Mooky we trust.
Definitely M00la I will not be taking a loss and selling out. Just going to have to be patient. Thanks for your post.
Morning gents
Hope this won't be construed as a overly negative post - not intended as I'm quite deep invested in CINE (for my personal circumstances). Being on a Cineworld BB and obviously wishing for the same thing, I guess it is only human to sometimes use motivated reasoning/conformation bias to reach our decision making or outlook for the future.
As a result, always interested to get all views and wondered if anyone here particularly concerned and plan to sell and their reasons for. Hope you all have a good weekend gents.
P.S - JBS I think you said you might get your movie screen out in the garden this weekend, if so hope the rain relents for you. Not so nice here in Leeds today so far
Yes and you wonder how much the share price will suffer given they had always said it was coming. Of course I get the most important thing for both parties right now is the pandemic easing both here and particularly in the USA.
Thanks Haich :-) I also thought of the new lad you referenced when I first read this. I'm sure he will feel naturally concerned when he reads this news tomorrow but I hope he stays calm and sticks it out.
P.S - you have made me feel better about my 78p holding now so thank you...And as for the share price moving up, as fanciful as it might sound you really don't know with this crazy share one week to the next! Good night.
Thanks for all this input Haich, depressing maybe but informative. I wonder how much of the likelihood of action from cineplex is already factored into the SP. Not a good time to be averaging at 78p
I think you make a good point there about Cineplex wanting quick action. It's in noones interests to go to the courts and neither party can be sure how it will play out. Cineworld need a response asap as you suggest.

Going back to an article back in March and a figure mentioned in many reports suggested Cineworld would be liable to a £28.3mn fine if they renagued on the deal.
I would hope not Hosai but we cannot be sure. Hopefully there will be some people on this page who have good knowledge of litigation. My guess without legal knowledge too that they may have to come to some agreed settlement. The legal action was always coming, they said as much so how much of that uncertainty is factored into the current price already I'm not sure.
Good thoughtful post there Haich, thanks. I guess it was inevitable that cineplex would launch action as they had said. I'm not sure it is in either sides interest for it to be dragged through the courts? If they reach a settlement how long do you think that might take?
I guess they were always going to take legal action. I wonder how long this will rumble on for?
I would say don't become totally preoccupied by refreshing the current share price and keep an eye on the news but get it from several different sources, not just one or two.
Also don't just let your mood be guided by one day's rise or fall.
57.54p on 21st July 12 Noon, if you were told it would be told it was 61.54p now you would be happy, but because it went to 67p yesterday you might not be. Definitely worth looking at the longer view. Good luck mate.
especially with this share! :-D
A good couple of days guys, but let's not return to the evening posts of "This will be £1 tomorrow" blah, blah.
Enjoy the ride and see how long it takes, as ever this is a funny old share. But enjoying today :-)
The announcement has not spooked the market it seems
I think it depends. If there is good news on the pandemic in the US or bad news it could move north or south pretty sharply still. Always been pretty volatile this one.
"Space Jam" is one of the first films they plan to show, and only a combined 320 showings across the whole country. Hardly a cause for concern.
Yeh I saw the interview - he is a numpty. Total joke, but at least it's a start!
Trump's first step towards advocating masks too slightly yesterday. Can only be a good thing.
