It may not be possible to put a figure on risk however it is possible to consider comparative risk. Clearly this situation is much less riskier than a company drilling for oil and facing the possibility that the well is dry. The risks with HUR as others have mentioned, are to do with porosity. As the Lancaster field is around 200 million years old and Bach Ho the producing fractured basement field in Vietnam is about (from memory) 70m years old, it is quite likely that Lancaster is in fact more porous than the former.
