According to my estimates it is now 115 days since the first patient in cohort 4 was treated and 70 days for the second and third which gives me some confidence. My concern was that there is a slight deterioration (which could be due to anything) for patient 1 between days 30 and 60 as shown by the chart in the presentation.
These are still very small cohort sizes and I doubt that many statisticians are investing!

There is a March 21st interview with Olav on the rene website. Jcyte have to use fresh cells with a shelf life of only 14 hrs. RENE has patented the technique for cryo preserving the hRPC cells which gives them 6 mo shelf life.

The astonishing thing is that the sp did NOT move for many days after the RP trials announcement.

The small print (under General Disclaimer) clearly states that the report was commissioned and paid for by Hurricane. I am always wary of Edison reports.

grizzlyb, Agreed but jcyte is definitely the competition to watch.
I've got a busy day so cannot research further at present.
1) Currently our trials employ 500k hRPC cells. Jcytes improvement was only 1 letter at this level, the 9 letter improvement was at the 3m level. We shall be increasing the dosage to 2m (from memory).
2.) My big worry is that the results might not persist. To my simple way of thinking, we are replacing photo receptor cells but is it possible that the process that destroys them still at work? Is it possible that JCyte had better results at an earlier stage?

dactions Thanks for the link. If you google RP you find all kinds of quackery from acupuncture to ayurvedic medicine.

I've read that RP is caused by as many as 50 different possible genetic defects. There is an FDA approved treatment Luxturna for one of them (RPE65 mutation). The cost is an obscene $425,000 per eye. ReNeuron state that their treatment works irrespective of the specific genetic defect causing the RP.

Great start to the week!

In situations like this where there is great potential upside and the sp is rising, I invest incrementally so that I always have a profit buffer. My aim is to get out quickly and unsentimentally with a smaller profit (or loss) if the situation changes .To that end I also watch the news closely.
With RENE nobody for sure knows why the price is rising. I shall be watching the RNS feeds with interest. and wouldn't be surprised if, in the morning a big investor has to show his hand.

I asked the same question yesterday. My completely uninformed opinion is that a big pharma company is stake building.
