The way seismic works is you get multiple points on a single line, generally, and by comparing the difference with the points next door you can build up a picture to depth.

That then becomes a “Synthetic” 3D by comparing it with the lines either side, which were probably not recorded at the same time but before or later when conditions were not exactly the same.

But eventually you build up an mage inside and get to see the “Data Box.”

But remember because the outer points at the edge don’t have datapoints outside the quality of the interpretation fades at the edge of the data box.

So that’s why the collection grid in length and width is much bigger than the high quality picture you get. Also as the resolution goes to depth you loose definition unless you have a massive set of data points on surface.

Hence why the line map is much bigger than the seismic they can interpret off it.

Essentially you loose a “big bezel” surrounding the picture just like on an old CRT TV.

So that may in part be why they are shooting the lines beyond their boundaries.

Also that big placing means they have the funds to move from a niche supplier to a project originator where the profits are much larger and you control the board. And it gives those customers much more comfort knowing that EQT are fully funded and some.

So yes I think it’s a screaming buy but remember others did pay for ten years of R&D along the way. I have no issue with enjoying their generosity however!

While that is happening TXP’s apparently “Too Pricey” grade A asset should be allowed to grow as long as PB and the team make it a little complicated for third parties.

And the bit everyone either didn’t know or has forgotten is there is an even bigger target beneath it in the Mid Miocene rock called Kraken. If it comes good you can go back and claim your birthright? Or maybe not!

Yes but in challenging times Germany expects Britain and other NATO powers to provide troops to protect it and therefore chooses to have far too small an army and spend very little on worthwhile defence.

As to the source of the risk, Russia. Britain last had a conflict with the Russians in the 1850s and we were the clear aggressors. Perhaps it’s time to focus our resources on our own security issues and not those of wider mainland Europe especially given that most of Europe does not choose to fund that need. It would only cost them 2% of GDP annually to sort the problem after 40 years of negligible spend.

I am sure Britain would still continue to secure the seas where 100% of all European sea based trade flow. The French of course do so too but based on a fairly obsolete fleet before their new boat arrives in 2040 ish.
