RE: Interesting trades today10 Jan 2021 18:18
Hello Trek,
Thanks for comments. There are so many opportunities right now and choices have to be made. ONC is my third largest after Avacta and SNG (been in those 2 - 3 years). Have various others including DDDD, FAB, ORPH, VAL and N4P to which DEST has been added. Toyed with holdings in SAR, HEMO, TILS but sold out at a profit as got spread too thin. Financial position, potential and near term real news are important for me. Over recent years (until 2020) small biopharmas were often not rewarding. My first was VAL and it has also made a great pull back. Raising funds to keep going with consequent dilution has been an issue but some are nearer now than ever to coming good or at least holding their own.
Patience has been important with these and in other sectors e.g. EQT but I sold out too early in AFC and GGP albeit at a profit. Spare funds have also been invested in minor miners this year (about 10) as there is quite a lot going on there too. That has been spread thinly as again there are lots of opportunities on AIM on explorers and near producers such as GRL and BMV.
Back to ONC, I believe it has a lot more to give so I haven't sold any. Early lung blood tests are very promising and techniques can be developed for other cancers so that could lead to a number of years' development. I would like to see more clarity on earnings in 2021 and 2022 which could come with next results announcement. At some stage there might be need for more funds to accelerate the various developments. News from IMPACTT programme and profiling (RNS 6.10.2020) is also due soon. Outcomes of discussions with a number of biopharma customers will hopefully lead to further collaboration with some big names like Roche. The future is bright!
