I've been buying more through all this week's carnage, but I think it shows none of us know where it's going next. I suspect $4K will go today, but anyone's guess where the bottom now is.

I take your point on board, but mine is that will become irrelevant as it is past tense and we are now in unprecedented times. Old rules do not apply today. Even big banks (now they have almost completed their purchases imo) are advising portfolios should now hold a PM amount of 20% (gold) - they would NEVER have said this previously...

We need to revisit this thread in 12 months time, when physical silver is triple digit $ (or even unobtainable), IMHO.

Remember, when it hit $50 in 1980, that is $12 approx in today's money...not sure I will be too worried about VAT and spot price differences that are present today, at that point!!
