No, really they don't. They have filed a provisional patent, all that does is give you an early filing date, which lasts 12 months. They need to file an actual patent within that 12 months...that takes a year or two to be accepted, and that's if it will be, as humanised mice already exist, and used in AML, just because they have brought out their own version may not justify enough differences to warrant it their own patent, and this is a complex patent being medical.
