Interesting this trade, I would think it must be a buy, given everything that is going on, but its price was at the lower end of the range for the 29th April. 1M shares is over 0.5% of the company....

The update sounds positive - however, it is completely lacking any numbers which is very disappointing. I think the update will be enough to stop the downward movement, but I do not see a sharp rise here until nearer the results. I scanned back to the previous years TU, and although it was similar without most major figures, it did include a bit more financial information. Following on from Rivaldo's comment, no broker info, no figures in the TU, I cant understand the rational behind that approach, especially given the share price performance. I must say, Today I am disappointed with the update, due to it being vague and unhelpful, it has left me wondering why the BOD would do this. I will continue to hold.

Todays drop is the hopers realising that there isn't any hope. No last minute rabbits pulled out the hat. No takeover, no TR1 from Biosynex. NCYT is no different from 100's of other AIM stocks now. - "Might be something in 5 years time".
Anyone wanting to make money investing over that period should look at the oil and gas sector, or resources. I think Tec and Bio will be unloved for a long time. This will get taken out very cheaply, and people who bought in over £3 probably wont get their money back.

I think the Fracking debate is an unhelpful distraction here to the core investment proposition of the cash being generated currently. I cant see Fracking being allowed in the UK. Happy to be wrong, but not invested here for that reason.
Im guessing 7.3M revenue for the year, with 2.5M Ebit. Surplus cash and no debt. Not bad for a small sub 20M company.
Once the rainbow chasers leave and the egg heads arrive this should re rate.

I hope it is tomorrow, I cant take much more of this. If not then, I guess after the bank holiday.

I do agree that the claim might not happen. I do agree AIM is a pit (not my doing). I am just working with probabilities that it will be cheaper next week. If it isnt, I have a list of other stocks that are great value. I owe no loyalty to NCYTE only my equity, which I wish to keep. Best of luck to any holders - your going to need it.

There might be some upside - one day, but I don't think it will be tomorrow. The way they have dropped the bombshell yesterday, I doubt they will generate a positive sentiment from tomorrows results. It could take a while, and a further drop before the sentiment starts to improve. I have sold. That's twice, 2 years running NCYT have dropped a bombshell in late april and put me at a loss. Their secretive behaviour is also going to be a major problem going forward, I dont follow the company religiously like some do, but I felt with the cash in the bank it looked a good small company recovery play, but its like dealing with a self destructive teenager, being invested here. If I miss some major move up then so be it, better than seeing my equity halve again tomorrow.
I think on balance of probability, SP is more likely to go lower in the short term. Various chartists showing support sub £1. Like it or not.

I can not get a quote. MM's need to let the price go so we can get some liquidity. That is supposed to be their job.

There seems to be a knife stuck in my hand. While I was invested here, and did top up after results, it would have been an ideal short set up. Looking at the chart, a head and shoulders formed through out 2022, with 40p being the end of the neck line. Worse still, the 40p neck line corresponded to 2 previous 'gap ups' - one in Feb 2021 and one in Aug 2019. Anyone who spotted this set up, could have gone short from 40p with relative peace of mind after the disappointing results, reduced dividend and war.

Possible support around 33p, but if not then 26p should do it.
I dumped mine, rather put in in O&G stocks. My biggest loser this year. Easier places to make it up though.

Maybe the buyback is a small step in that direction, but what would be the point in sinking 20M to take the company private? They don't have 20M spare cash, so would still require some leverage. Better to keep in the market, have various holders, and a route to raise cash if ever needed. Perhaps a better scenario would be for a company with 20M to make a 'bolt on' acquisition of Zytronic.

I like this company either way, and would be sorry to lose the chance to invest in it.

Honestly, it was over priced at 6p. All the info is in the prior RNS's just spend an hour reading them.

If it is just a healthy pull back, then I will be buying many more shares, liquidating a few other positions. Id like some under 30p ideally, being unrealistic id like to replace some I sold at 27p Lol.

The question is - what effect on operating expenses was the machine tool business having?
The reason for this question, is that the operating expenses are the issue here, the company is not really making any money. Gross profit - $12.2M. Operating expenses $10.7. Subtract finance expenses & tax, and you are left with $0.5M.
Seems the company has not been profitable and this has incurred debts. Ok they now have a chunk of money from the sale of a business, but there is a sizable debt to pay. How will they focus on growing the laser part of the business?
Also talk of exposure to microchip shortages in the interims I read. Only took a quick look. I also went back to pre covid times and still read familiar sob stories. Doesn't strike me as a growth opportunity - yet.
You can only sell the family silver once. I will keep watching from the side-lines.

Hi, I agree with your sentiment, though these last few weeks are a tough hold. I have a few 'good' uk companies like this and they have all sold off and not picked back up again. So it may be that results are good, but we have to wait to see the upside. I hope they can reduce debt and the pension deficit. I have said before, perhaps sell the aerospace division to reduce debt and focus on growing the plastics. GLA.
