If you spend some time on google under the search “share buyback during closed period”, there seems to be precedent for buyback of company shares during a closed period. They need to have announced it and not be privy to price sensitive information. On the basis that Freeh group is independent, the company has rebutted allegations, previously announced buybacks and the report is not completed, does anyone share the view that the large after sales buys could be buybacks???

Apparently as results imminent they are in a closed period. But it definitely would make sense to but them. Does closed period apply to buybacks by employer (I thought just directors ).

My money is on Krupa, in view of their recent comments.

It’s really simple. If there was new bad news issued, by now it would be in the public domain. II’s would be dumping. No big asset grabs will be taken out by II’s until results known, and report out then it will happen quickly. Everything else is noise, evidenced by the frequent ups and downs fuelled by a single tweet.

I think MW should be worried. Despite a 20% drop in 48 hours, this seems more likely to be panic with shorters. No institutions have said anything. Nor have NMC really. This type of share movement is nothing more than noise and greed. There has been no news for 3 weeks, but NMC have not reneged on anything they said. True we would all have liked cash balances, but there is probably a bigger picture here, and I think that will be good news for the patient. Oh, and someone bought £47m after hours. That’s got to be good news.

Not an expert but 1.57% of what, the pre collapse share price? The %age wouldn’t reflect fall of SP, proportionately could be higher, eg if share price we...halved, are you looking at 3% plus or does that not work? Don’t really understand the mechanics, just thinking about the most likely option and feeling pretty optimistic and short of clean pants. Tomorrow had to bring some news surely.

Still, the movement from last two days is bizarre. We would have heard if an ii had dumped surely? Would a massive short attack following a MW tweet (coincidentally) at the point where news might come out soon look like this I wonder. The drop was within an hour of tweet, no other explanation offered by anyone (save the apocalypse). If you were building a case with ex FBI and Interpol, wouldn’t you be happy to stay quiet for a couple of weeks??
