So value ,the Ocado update is fully priced in but when the stock gains 2% half hour after your statement its down to U.S futures :-) .

You tallk some tosh I've barely had my 2nd cup of tea and you say the markets have fully priced in this mornings trading update from Ocado , The market makers are sitting on their hands with regard to mks until results day .

Why write down store values ? There's no fire sale going on . Mks has been able something the likes of Debenhams, hof were not able to do is to migrate to out of town to purpose built retail parks with better parking etc. Any write downs in stores will only be booked on the back of strong online sales imho .

Agreed value play companies need to change do you think Steve Rowe and Archie should be doing more and if yes what .

Midas , why come out with such twaddle. I periodically look at this board for insight opinion during the day and I feel enlightened when someone points out after hours buying or a reduction in shorts playing the stock etc . Then I read the likes of you and Tom and I think mwhhwww..

Can see a Rolls iag effect with this share where 30%+ happens in the space of a week , suttle change in reporting i noticed as well where the once darling John lewis was told to follow the lead of mks in making changes. Just need a solid performance without no nasty surprises on November 4th to set the ball rolling.

Call me a conspiracy theorist but it wouldn't surprise me if there's a pro Biden pharma company that delays announcing any positive news on vaccine trials until after the election, I'm not that naive or stupid to say they'd sit on important progress indefinitely but holding stage 3 data back a couple of weeks wouldn't prolong the rollout of the vaccine. And it would stop Trump from claiming credit and extra votes .

He knows that his constituency gets no government help if its only local lockdown ( especially if its mainly labour areas ) but nationwide there's more chance of government bailout. What would be better for mks circuit breakers say 3 weeks or a full lockdown or neither.

With a bit of dodgy Banking Scsndal thrown in ( if you actually read that all that's been leaked by buzzfeed is the sars reports that the banks flag up to the authorities its less of a scandal .So it stands to reason that Ocado doesn't feel the pain the rest of the market feels . I'm disappointed some of the Ocado gloss hasn't rubbed off on Mks but this continue talking up of Ocado and home delivery revolution can only be good for the long term future of the company imho.

Was interesting that Ocado was deemed getting ahead of itself jumps 10% and Marks was a 4% gain , a more positive outlook on Marks overall should nudge the shares up and any broker upgrades can only help.

I read a couple of months back a snippet where they were calculating the worth of the jv with Ocado and long story short came up with its about 25% of Ocados value either way m&s are undervalued was the outcome. Forward yesterday's ocado update and everything is positive except the piece I read on the proactive investor website that was a quote from a UBS analyst
"Indeed, UBS analysts clarified that the Ocado Retail JV makes up less than 10% of its valuation." Which at yesterday's Ocado valuation was £1.95b at 10% .Anyone else want to pick a figure out the sky for the jv worth

Whats a fair price ? Back in February marks was a perpetual dog of a share priced at 185 then covid happened and the shares got hammered , many businesses are still in a coma , marks has been able to push through needed changes sooner and is now benefitting from the already agreed jv with ocado .We need a vaccine or return to normality so that a meaningful valuation can be put on the shops which are still profitable and have freehold value and the jv which is worth far more than the £750m that its so far cost mks . One thing for sure is marks has emerged from covid with a bounce in its step and there's not many businesses that have.
