October 2020, retail sales volumes increased by 1.2% from September, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said.

It was the sixth consecutive month of growth in the industry.

Growth in the volume of sales for non-store retailing clocked in at 6.4%, while growth rates of 3.2% for household goods stores and 3.1% for the hard-pressed department store sector all contributed to the overall monthly increase in retail sales, the ONS said.

The year-on-year growth rate in the volume of retail sales saw a strong increase of 5.8%, with feedback from a range of businesses suggesting that consumers had started Christmas shopping earlier this year, further helped by early discounting from a range of stores.

Total retail sales values (excluding fuel) in October were 7.9% higher than they were in February – the month before the lockdown restrictions were imposed in the UK.

The vaccine news was a bit deceiving , az/ox news was from phase 2 trials , I believe they've had the thunder stolen from them by the pziter/moderna news so have chucked this out .When they give a roll out date I believe the whole market will jump again excluding your zooms etc..

Wonder if boo are interested in the jagger label, I know atm its not their target audience but if it could be picked up relatively cheaply would be a worthwhile addition to a 30's+ female shopper ,plus it can command a more premium price per garment

Can you enlighten me on the signals you see that are going to propel the shares higher please , ive bought in today because I think they've been over sold on the auditors / Leicester shenanigans.

I was going ask value if he was still assessing his mks entry point but thought better of it ;-)

I think the Goldman buy update and price target of 130 is important, not that I take much stock of price targets more a sense that the sentiment is slowly turning , even after the results mks had hackneyed comments from the Telegraph and Financial Times of negativity , they'll change their tune when more positive comment comes from the brokers .
This will in turn push the shares up to 125 ish

With the market share mks has in clothing /underwear it would be folly to abandon it in my opinion. Just needs tweeking i.e nobody's child and more digital presence which they are doing.
