I've Just made a sizable purchase today hoping to catch that falling knife having bought last week. Now the reason I've gone not exactly all in but large is because I can't get out my head the words of a labour politician .

If you like me who listens to Nick Ferrari on LBC most mornings you'll know he gets his fair share of Labour MP's trying to flog their latest propaganda and policy .Now twice its come up where he's highlighted the current house builds versus Labour's proposed commitment to build . And when pushed on the 300000 yearly target with figures substantially below that the MP was adamant that meaningful progress will be made. Now I'm sceptical that the targets will be made not least because we haven't built 300k homes a year at all let alone 5 years on the bounce , add into that the current economy and labour shortages it appears a target too far . But having said that they have at least got to try to achieve that goal and the only way I can see that is by awarding large contracts to the main players .and Vistry is by far the biggest player in that segment of social housing. 1 month is a long time when you're bombing a defenseless target , I expect the current situation to have calmed itself down by then and normal stockprice movements to resume.

With regard to funky pigeon, yes sales have been stagnant circa low £30m but you can take the view that it was being run by a company that viewed it as complimentary to its existing business. Its now been bought by a company that knows how much a piece of A4 card laminated costs knows where to source is able to test samples in its own physical stores and in whole is a much better environment for the company to succeed and prosper by integrating it into cf where cost synergies will be immense.

Funky pigeon isn't Moon Pig but its a copy the very quirky name says it all ,but you have to remember that Moon Pig was around for about 8 years before funky pigeon so trying to compare them as equals would be disingenuous to do so at the present time. What you can take away is Moon Pig has a considerable market share advantage over FP . Who's to say FP under new leadership cannot eat into that Market share.

Scb I'm not defending Boohoo past performance, things happen In society that make winners without trying and conversely losers when for very little is done wrong. Now if Boohoo was playing the same tune that it has sung in the previous 5 years then your concerns would be legitimate , but as you well know Boohoo is a different beast with different objectives I've no crystal ball to say if its wrong or if its the right direction but what I can say is being on a constant doom loop when a different record is playing makes you come across very bitter.

Its interesting what you say about the advertising, I'd say i hadn't seen much , a few years ago they quite literally bought up the advertising board on the Blackwall tunnel approach ( a main artery in to London for those not in the know ) but very little since . But now with the sticky algorithms I've looked at the debs site and can not stop being bombarded with adverts from Mr crouch 😀

Same here I was the 44085 buy around mid day . I personally think at 22p there's great potential. Im not expecting fireworks at post Christmas earnings but do expect some bright signs from beauty in the uk and concessions in the States . Hoping for 50% rise in the next 4 months .

Agreed , they've had a long run up at this so any potential regulatory or competition issues that arose should have been smoothed over . I cannot see the mergers and markets authority throwing a spanner in the works and the current government are unlikely going to want to get involved.
