Hi rob. Yeh, My opinion is, it could go up, or could go down. I don't know, so I will hold. Nobody on here knows. If they did, they would be far too rich to waste there time, posting on this forum. The price is very low, I agree, so I think it should go up, but if the market says otherwise, who knows? If you want the premium service, you have to pay extra! Have a good one Amigo.

Hi rob. A 4% yield is not too bad, not far short of some annuity rates where your investment is guaranteed to go to zero, but of course vod has been a bad investment in the past, so time to except that, & move on.

Longtimeinvestor "the % saved on dividends would be far greater than the % interest paid on debt" That means the % interest paid on debt would be far less than the % saved on dividends. So you seem to be saying, keep paying the divi because the % paid on debt is far lower. Or are you getting a bit confused? To divi, or not to divi, that is the question?

Hi rob. The night classes are going fine, I have progressed from 4 pints of cider in one night to 5. As for this forum? Well what can I say. But as you correctly say, everybody is entitled to there opinion & I have never said, or suggested otherwise. I just don't like graphs, sorry, just my opinion.

Pokerchips. A very good post from you about fleccy, & exactly how I feel, but based on fleccy's response, you clearly have a far better way of putting it than I do, so thanks for that.

Fleccy. Perhaps Mark has a graph predicting R.R. will go up by another 187% this year? Garonne. If vod cuts its divi, what will it do with the money saved. Vod already has free cash flow, so can vod reduce it's deb't ? How does it do that? Can vod just pay off excisting deb't ? & at what cost. Or re invest, how? expanding how?. Vod has a fundemental problem, possitive cash flow, but what do you do with it. Why compare vod to R.R. R.R. can invest in their company by making very good jet engines in an expanding industry, what can vod do? It is not that simple. Why compare 2 companies that are nothing like each other? Complete nonsense, surely? Stop this management blaming, without thinking it through please.

Mole. Of course it does not make sense for vod to borrow at over 5% for you to invest at under 5%, that was the whole point of my posts. I was talking about excisting deb't & whether vod should axe the divi completely, as many including you have suggested. That is why I wanted to know what % interest vod pays on it's excisting deb't. But it sounds like nobody on here really knows, because I guess it is quite complex. So I will have to leave it to the vod management to decide.

Pokerchips, what I said is, if vod is paying a high divi rather than paying off more deb't, Is that wise? I don't know, but it depends whether the % interest rate they pay on the deb't is higher than the % interest rate its shareholders can get on there divi.
