Jointhedots - Agree with all you say. You say the px was ramped up or down . I have sometimes thought that.
So, now I don't telegraph my intention to buy or sell at the beginning of the order. (Notice - it is usually the first part of your order they want to know, before quantities).
Now I press that button last - so they have to make their offer or bid virtually instantly.
Everyone is always out to squeeze the punter a little more.
I would really like to be 'teleported' 2 years forward. I would then have lost the lot, or made some money.
But no, sod's law would say the SP hasn't moved!

Whyallah - When I put an order in to buy they quote me for 15 seconds to fill, or it's killed.
Or, I put in a limit order, and wait.
I have never not been quoted in my 103 years...
Unless you're skimming tiny percentages - here and there, with big volume- whats an extra 1/10th of a penny?
There are a lot of people here who say they can't buy because they want to hype the price.
It doesn't work in a falling market.

Banker2 - Why don't you think of opening an a/c with Hargreaves Lansdown? They only charge £11 per trade and you get FREE real time prices - on as many shares as you have on your own watchlists. You don't have to be logged on or own the shares. . And that's on all your devices. (not simultaneously, of course.) Anyway, its good to know someone still has some dosh left to buy with...They will also transfer your ISA etc over to them from Halifax very quickly, and efficiently. Just some advice from the Silly Man.

Just put in a limit order at above the market and you'll buy.

There are loads of oil companies that are vulnerable to vultures at the moment. What we need is the PoO to go back up. HUR should piggy back that, being a producer. Apart from day-traders, I can't see why anyone would sell at this SP anyway.

FredB - You are not alone.....My average cost is 44,5p. So, it’s a big ask. Before, when buying, it appeared a decent punt on the future. Now it’s hope, and praying on the future. As you rightly say, ”How things have changed...”
