So what you are saying SquirtyFlower is that an October wave of selling by FI, to be completed by the end of the month, may or may not be followed by a November wave of selling to start at the beginning of the month? Couldn't we just refer to this as 'selling'? :-)

Released their long awaited FS today. You might want to look at the market reaction as it gives a fair indication as to the sort of market we are currently operating in.

As I indicated, they are moving the First Island shares "quite sympathetically". Not really too concerned as to whether this is viewed as 'dumping' or not!

I think that it is difficult to describe this as manipulated down when it is known that there is a large seller dumping a significant number of shares, albeit quite sympathetically. The pattern would suggest that they do not want to push this much lower.

That's the basis for the 5-2 diet which I have used on occasion in the last few years. As I understand it you can get the same benefits from this as undertaking the longer fast (which is exceptionally difficult).

An interesting development that Chinese prices have reverted to 2-3% rises whilst those is Europe and USA drop despite the fact that there is already a price disparity. This cannot be sustained as Chinese traders will just not supply export markets. I suspect that it is very thin trade with a few traders clearing their books. I find it difficult to envisage how the current situation can be sustained.

I suspect all change in a short while in Brazil given the election. Judging by the standard of the likely President, it looks like the quality will be pretty low.

There is a definite irony in the financial adviser's comments. The stock market is supposed to be forward looking and yet he only uses historical information to make his comments. For me this is essentially why these people perform so poorly over time.

I recall a marketing approach that Hargreaves Lansdown used to use based on 'Mr Hindsight' who invested based on the best performing funds and companies for the last year and 'Miss Foresight' who miraculously picked the winners for the next year. Their point was that Mr Hindsight consistently performed poorly so you needed to look forwards for better returns.

It seems that some people in the industry still don't understand this.

I remember the replacement calls. It is fair to say that it was on the back of a couple of mistakes that he made. For me the dark time was when he invited Darwin on board. My investment instinct when they are involved is to get out immediately but for some reason I stayed on here. Fortune is a great strategist and appears to get the major calls right. I am not convinced that he is always so great on the financing side of things, perhaps lacking a little confidence in this area (although the way in which he financed the Vametco purchase is hard to criticise given the context). But he is growing and one would hope that his hand is getting stronger by the day and any new need to finance a brownfield acquisition will be done on good terms with quality institutions who stick around for longer than a few months.

Just looked at their page for Bushveld and it indicates that there are 10m on the bid and 5m on the ask. Anybody follow Yahoo to understand the veracity of this information?

Well, it looks like anything vaguely associated with Vanadium on the Canadian exchanges is going through the roof currently (the Largo effect?) whereas anything anywhere else (here and Australia basically) nothing is happening. Eventually it will although it is a tad frustrating to see one side of the world roar ahead whilst the rest stagnate.

Hmmm. I tend to assume the worst and anything else is a pleasant surprise. We know FI were selling down so assuming that they are selling completely seems prudent, especially as we are seeing large sells amidst a much greater number of smaller buys.

A short term buyer's strike has caused the disconnect. It cannot last and US and European prices will rise to match Chinese prices. They need the product and there is no new supply that is going to let them buy at lower levels in the future. There is nowhere else to go.
