@Mairi, I am not an expert but the anticipated 80m column sat above a known oil field, buffalo 7. So drilling lower would be like passing through your attic into the bedroom below. To be commercially viable they needed some remaining oil from buffalo 7 plus a minimum amount from the attic.. something like that..So I guess what was important was the height above buffalo 7(the attic)..
Here is Ian Stalker on Tai, he does not give the impression they are looking for anything more than measurements from Tai-2, but measurements is open to interpretation ?? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQX1qi-RZBE
@Harpmandoodle, Do you have the link, copy of the text, or time within video, so we can see? @KeithOz, so she does right at the end, 4m20sec , Mmmm don't trust blondes And that Boiler room pro He1 guy VOID
I have not posted this on ADV BB as its too late, but I know a few guys here got caught like myself, and its all about learning, anyway found this post.....Remember the drill was on prognosis..that last dangling carrot before the final section and the result..
"If there are distinct lithology breaks then they can be picked easily and should be able to indicate if the well is on prognosis or not. Now the not so good news. I think all the key markers that they will look for are from the top of the Echuca Shoals formation which will be encountered just above the next casing point. I'm not sure that Carnarvon will make any mention of this in any press release though."
lets just hope nobody bets their pensions or likewise on this even if we are in a position to speak with the off-takers, again.. There have been some serious losses on the ADV BB, ( even though 95% CoS, Almost unimaginable there wont be a production development)..
That cost money and DM is frugal, but who knows he will change plans as we seen with Tai. Did you hold off buying today at 11p, or waiting to see what monday brings?
@xviolet, he does speak at a level you can follow, I think :) Really interesting video, and a scary chart at 12m15s, some tips on buying miners, how ending tapering affects almost everything.. all in just 20 minutes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dX6FLTtWmIc
@Troajan sometimes its hard to distinguish betweeen good and bad... Green houses gas methane, 20% increase last year plus another 35% just last week on my favorite chilli,, Cleaner air but empty belly....
can't win.... But hopefully we have a winner here on round 2 :)
@Aimtrader, looking at the recent seismic study it only covers the northern Rukwa area..So thats where I think the drilling will be focused, plus maybe Tai as they left us believing washout put an end to that discovery,
I posted an old video by mistake a while back too, thought it was a great find... See DM recommends 9p "we’re maximising our chances of making a discovery, which as we move into drilling makes a 9p investment a rather compelling case. " pity he did not do the interview when its hit 15p...
@deep100, think your posting last years 3 drill plan that was changed, adding the Tai drill..the original plan was changed after the seismic results. but due to the limitations of the drill phase 1 ended at the 1st site So at the moment no mention of drilling Tai again, yet we were left believing the washout prevented an almost certain discovery.. If they don't announce Tai in the new phase I be will a lot more cautious around results
