Plus Ukraine news, looking at it from another point of view we have NATO pushing east, some newer members bordering Russia, when Georgia openly touted joining NATO Russia invaded..

We had break down of rig costs on ADV, sea drill..
In that case it appears the rig contract period started from the time it was made available, after the previous contractor finished. So cost included 5 days to move and get the rig into position. But on land I guess its from time of delivery, would be interesting to know..
After spudding and running the surface casing I estimated it was drilling 300m/day down to 2700m, so with Tai being 1200m it will be quick...

That road goes nowhere on my map, ending where the map colour changes, and green fields appear.. :(

Taking another look it is to straight the be a gully, not sure about the direction of the highway, but part way along there looks to be a connecting track which comes out in a well populated area with a good road.. Assuming it does end where my maps colours change, corner of a field then maybe it was between site and camp, with the connecting tracking serving both...sounds reasonable, maybe.. But irrelevant waffle as I think your spot on with the seismic lines

Its quiet on the shallow drilling news, not something I am holding out for especially if they are confident they have a discovery pending at Tai..
But I am not up to date, and catching up..

Now in that rectangle is an interesting mark on the ground, shaped like a trailer, and I suspect drilling mud may have stained the ground in that area. -8.370543, 32.326076
I dont see any forest using google maps, (that you mention), ..even though were are in the same location, so was wondering if you see the trees shown in photos of the drilling platform around that mark?

@Uvton, you will have to do some research on the MSS image unless someone can explain the colour map, as it does not seem to match the heat maps in the presentations??

@Uvton.. The ground data is still being used, the satellite data complements everything collected to to date.
Last years seismic was to complement the original seismic data, called infill data, reducing the distance between the original seismic lines studied. A more defined grid of lines..
The infill data was collected over a smaller area of greater interest, thats how Tai replaced the original sites to be drilled, it was a surprise outcome, larger than expected.
This years seismic survey is further into the basin, moving away from the outer areas, as last years work(Tai's data) suggests better possibilties in that direction, northish..

I guess your right, it wont be symmetrical enough to find the exact center, 2 holes roughly in the middle then , wish it was a perfectly round basin ;)

I hope its multiple drills so the share price is spared a little if the first site is a duster, and if its good then goes crazy on the second spud ...and on the 3rd ;)

@skittish, I think that road is a gully of some sort, zoom in, its light on one side, dark on the other, runs so far then disappears before connecting with another road or track....also runs through, both sides of the black dot

I took it as, because they were unable to test they could not prove the presence of free gas.. At the time my impression was they decided to drill deeper rather than stop and test, in the end losing the opportunity... Now I am a little skeptical

From the RNS with the side track..
The gas show is supported visually by indications of increased levels of gas entrained as bubbles in return mud at surface. This offers circumstantial evidence of free gas in the subsurface, however we have no direct evidence and the bubbles may have entered the return drilling mud from other sources. Free gas containing helium will need to be confirmed by direct measurement via wireline logging and testing before a discovery can be confirmed.

If they announce Tai-3 I think speculators will be buying like crazy and 28p could be passed before results..Not Tai-3 not so crazy..

@kev, if you sold monday you would have had almost the same outcome as a 1C find, with a production development in the pipe line.. That was worth 6p/share according to Optiva..
I knew that, but if your going to bet on a result 95% CoS is logically the one to do it..
Some horror stories with people losing their pensions on the BB, some people mentally in a bad place, a little upsetting to read..

@DaProphet, I dont really have much knowledge about oil, ADV just my 3rd attempt at trading a penny share.. He1 my 2nd, and SYME my first.. I put a 10 page word doc together with notes from EnergyGeo, thats my knowledge on oil..

like that Ian Stalker video, that ADV posting about the markers got pushed to the back of my mind.
Reflecting back there was quite a discussion here about the capabilities of the mineral rig in the early days, but the fact it was a better spec, an upgrade to the original rig it fizzled out.. But I still would have done the same I guess..

I derisked on ADV, left a little on the table, hung around, then took it off the table before I lost anything as clueless to any options..
There is a post on ADV with possible options, I could try finding it tonight?

The video I posted from last year, was more about reflecting back, in the way it was not rampy, just taking measurements, no mention of a attempting a discovery and if that was our main update I certainly would not have bought anymore shares on Tai-2, and people would not have bought high 20s.. I watched it at the time, thought Mmmm, and forgot about it.. But for some reason it came to mind again..
