Gosh happy to see this moving north again. Was a bit spooked few weeks back as relatively new pick of mine, some parts of the purch I think up near 50%, o well good luck pfc and all invested, in theory plenty left in this one
adding for what it's worth, they SHOULD increase the dividend, give the share holders back some of their profits! id like to see the dividend doubled, no major reason why it couldn't be -- and still be covered near 2x from earnings.... large debt now yes but likely they could pay that down over 3 years as well -- HFD increase the dividend!
well i've added here, if they have an earnings yield close to 14% thats plenty good enough..... div is pretty rubbish at the moment but if they go back to 50% of earnings, that would be around 7%+..... suggests a rerate of 40% share price in order too....
Thank you Krustysmegma, I did follow through on it so quite happy, def a top trade in my life! However bit disappointed as yesterday did further research and came to the conclusion sdrc was best investment I could make and was preparing to sell others to buy more. Sadly that opportunity missed but still my investment was big enough to make a difference, quite happy and very highly rate the company.... May still buy more
Why has the company tanked as much as it has? i viewed this as a buy and hold, for teh long term,
personally topped up here as my limited knowledge of this company suggests value here....
Also see the widened gap between the voting and the non voting shares? never really been as wide in recent times, teh sdrc especially could be a worthy buy, the gap between the two could well narrow
quick look at the rns, looks like JP Morgan & Abrdn been selling down over the last few months putting downward pressure on the shares, while Norges picking up shares.... i realatively respect the later when they involved in the market -- JPM? not so much!
Hi Emarald, share price is crazy low in my opinion, free cash flow looks chunky, hence why i orig bought and added to at various points 2018 till 2020... just bought additional chunk today, scope for that div to be increased markedly too
Apparently according to a guardian article they ceased operations unlike bat, another article independent, seemed to suggest they announced it 2 weeks ago. I'm not sure that they are right. No Rns of course
And I'll consider buying... In really bad taste I was going to say this was selling of worse than a company with a 50% stake in a Russian subsidiary, but I'll leave that... But this sell off seems unwarranted, unless I've missed something
I don't know enough about the value of BP operations that it could lose 25? If the other 75% gains in value 10%, poss due to oil price we may only end up 10% down from here.... Let's see what happens to BP and thoughts to Ukraine
Aha x div today
Hey Nacho, cheers for your reply, I'll check out the link. Thanks.
Cheers for comments ref recent history. Both companies seem well placed, especially if the wind down of oil is overstated, which I believe it to be.
Good result there with the trading, get the feeling if I still hold these in four years may be quite a different company. How do you rate the management? Improvement on what went before?
Thanks
well just did a small PE assessment of what could happen within a couple of years, working on the terrible 3% margins, the new number of shares and a PE of 8 -- my crude figures suggest £1.37 now and £1.76 possibly 12 months out. Not sure where Andrew got his 9X return....
Well not the nicest figures but maybe ok to stay in this and see if we get to 172p -- around 48% upside from today
I first heard of this share on a money week interview which had Andrew Hunt as a guest. I remember he commented that he thought PFC was a great value opportunity for uk investors. I don't normally follow tips but as i am very bullish on oil, i took a punt, which hasn't gone anwhere. I kind of buy the cyclical nature of the industry and chronic under investment in the type of work that PFC does, it only seems likely that the tide will turn for the likes of PFC. Andrew, bless him, suggested a 9 fold increase possible with PFC, prob over a few years. I'll happilty take 100% but may take a few years. if they don't go bust.
he rated pfc above wood group which i think have done better lately
good luck all
