RE: SP worth 30p27 May 2017 23:11
Here's the Share Prophets commentary to save looking for the link. It doesn't add much to what we already know, other than they like new Chairman Miles Pelham. In that fact, I readily agree when I spoke with him at the London Investor Show. I think he told me his background is Banking-Money markets trading. I'd guess he's late 30s, not brash, a bit of a rough diamond that's becoming very smooth. He's convinced that Obtala is now going places - the Hot Rockets target of 30p is too limited in my opinion.
quote - The transformation of Obtala (OBT) under Miles Pelham has continued with the $14.8 million purchase of WoodBois, a leading global trader and producer of sawn timber. Obtala shares, tipped by us at an 8.25p offer and retipped at prices much lower than that now trade at 19.75p-21p but are heading far higher.
Woodbois has been profitable for the past 5 years and the deal is immediately cash accretive to the Group. Woodbois owns a 102,000 acre forestry concession in Gabon with a fully operational 24,000m3 sawn capacity sawmill and a 18,000m3 veneer plant opening in 2017.
The $14.8 million will be paid in 3 tranches and includes c$4 million in shares so the cash cost is $10.8 million leaving Obtala with roughly the same again still in the kitty so can easily afford the $500,000 of capex needed to upgrade and expand the Woodbois facilities. Indeed the third tranche of $5 million is payable over 5 years so swelling Obtala's available cash but also tying in key Woodbois bosses.
With the new equity issued Obtala is valued at c $67 million at the mid price. Its Forestry assets have a proven value of round about that valuation. In oher words the remaining cash and the company's agricultural assets are in for free which is barking. On a sum of the parts basis, allowing nothing for any uplift in forestry which is harsh, Obtala is easily worth 30p per share. The fact that, in Pelham, it has one of the most impressive bosses on AIM at the help should merit a premium rating not the current discount rating.
We are way ahead on this share tip but there is more to come. If you can get any stock at up to 20.5p do so - at up to that price this is a buy with a target to sell of 30p+
