I would leave her / them alone now. Nothing shareholders can do to affect things positively now (other than continue to hold shares and which is dangerous).

There's been some decent buys too. It's just a gamble now, on the outcome of any talks that may or may not happen.

In the email last nigh he said the BOD were working hard to find a buyer (well that was the implication of working on the FSP) while the regular folk are continuing to give best service to the consumers. Assuming that CC isn't just thumb twiddling along with TP and 'hoping for the best', that could mean that eve is in fact in some talks. Whether or not the correspondent is in a position to know is a completely separate issue.

If it happens slowly then at least there's a longer time for something to come to the rescue.

(When I was a teen I read a newspaper story about a guy who was trapped when out hunting. His leg was caught in a fall, and he was in water, in a rising tide. The water was up to his neck, with no sign of rescue.

Rather than drown slowly he resolved to blow his brains out. Once the shot gun barrel was in his moth he suddenly thought 'snorkel' and lived to tell the tale.)

Eve had one near-death experience before the pandemic. I'm not saying there'll be a rescue but the longer we trade the better.

There's no actual 'new news' today so people acting on their own feelings of how it's going to turn out. They may be right.

CC was billed as a speaker here months ago. Her photo was still on a couple of days ago but I couldn't find her in the 3 day timetable so I wrote to ask them if she was still speaking. No answer in response from them but now her photo has disappeared too.

Incidentally dontgive, the Sleep Away (back in stock) is now £197. Wasn't it £179? So they are putting up prices, or I'm mistaken, or they're getting ready to discount it having charged a higher price for 7 days or whatever the rule is.

Maybe advertising a high price while they are low on stock too?

Hi dontgive, I'm certainly not at all confident. Though I have not given up hope. I have left a couple of shares thinking that they have no hope, only to regret leaving. But equally there've been a couple that have sunk so much that what I have is not even worth selling.

I am very over-exposed with eve. I've set an order to sell 1/4 of what I own (the part in my fund and share account) at a small profit above what I paid, just in case I'm out and there happens to be good news. It's at a big discount, huge discount, to your hope of 10p. But you have to do what you believe is right. I'd love to see you have a massive framed print of 'DGU. Seriously Bad Advice' hanging above your new car's garage.

Maybe this reviewer only bought the eve because she caught a decent discount, better than emma's discount that day?

Just a thought that crossed my mind this evening. The eve Chief Operating chap who replied to me (and who reports directly to CC) didn't actually say he'd pass on Yanis's message (my screen grab of it) to her. Maybe he knows that she is super busy in talks, has the 'do not disturb' notice on her door, and he doesn't want to distract her. Otherwise it would have been very easy to say to a shareholder, 'yes, I'll pass on the message' even if he suspected it would have little effect. It's a small company; they must be able to have easy comms and often. He didn't want to tell a fib, even a simple one.

'Now', 10 days after the RNS, is the time I would expect serious discussions are on IF anyone has been attracted to eve's putting up the 'For Sale' sign. (Of course, the phone could be silent and he just didn't want to pass the message on.)

Thanks for the heads-up on XSG, I'd missed that. I'm still way-down but up 40% bodes well.

The XSG bb was pretty down till recently so the mood can and does change.

The Facebook translation of that page reads 'we are very very happy to announce to our Belgian neighbours and friends that I carriers are serving Belgium again and that we can deliver...'

So AGAIN implies this June as I don't think they've already pulled out of Belgium twice.

Dontgive, when you say 'things are perhaps not so bad as others believe', I'm afraid I think you're 100% kidding yourself (but I'd be extremely happy you're right and I'm wrong, of course). No company would ever pretend to be in a more parlous state than it actually is.

Don't some animals pretend to be injured to draw predators away from young and vulnerable offspring? I can see why they might do that but it wouldn't extend to business for any reason I can think of or imagine. That would be the only reason that things aren't as bad as the RNS implied. Unless they want to be taken over earlier rather than later and wanted to get out into the market now, before it's terminal for sure?

I guess Belgium is a double edged sword. How much is the support going to cost etc. They must want to carry on and not appear panicked; not want to put potential buyers off by looking desperate (more desperate than the picture the RNS painted).

Frustrating that, with lack of revenue and up for sale, eve are 'out' of their big seller! Still, Argos have it and they have it on sale so eve are still making some money with the sleep away. Also further indicates that Argos have their own stocks of eve goodies, like DFS. I'd imagine eve are prioritising getting a new delivery ASAP.

An outdoor version certainly might be a good seller in the summer if we can stay afloat till next summer.

He didn't actually say he'd pass on the message. I do however think that they told us what they wanted us to know, and no more. We might not realise that there's a valid reason for withholding the bank balance. Trouble with that strategy is we might fear the very worst as something withheld is usually bad news.

I was searching for any press in France on the FSP. In case they might hope to get bought out by Carrefour or Geant / Casino. Can't find anything. However, this popped up and not seen it before. Probably a very old campaign, in Paris
