The point of the advfn list was what shorting looks like by numbers. Ggp wouldn’t make a list, and doesn’t make it anywhere as far as I know. But you know where to look, so having looked, I would genuinely like to know what your source says. As would others, I expect.
Because I assess from comments on here that some don’t get the obvious. And if and when it’s raised……..

Yes. That’s the point, against a background here of statements Ggp is ‘being ‘ shorted. The only short position known was a very small one. JPM bought some back, reducing their short position, and may well have closed out completely.
Those shorting would have a reason for doing so, based on their assessment the share price would drop for one reason or another. In this case for instance, a negative DTM.

2023 Exploration Programme Objectives

Following a successful 2022 field season, Amaroq is planning the next development phase at Nalunaq. The Corporation intends to proceed with the extraction of a large bulk sample within one of the resource areas with the aim to upgrade the Mineral Resource, a further step towards a maiden Mineral Reserve estimate. The bulk sample will demonstrate the revenue generation potential of the resource and be the first step toward full production. Ahead of the bulk sample, Amaroq will conduct trade off studies to decide whether to source the material from the Valley or Mountain Blocks. The Corporation is in negotiation with various mining and construction contractors for this work.

Amaroq will also conduct a programme of surface drilling into the Mountain Block to further extend the Inferred Resources in this extremely high-grade zone of the project. Drilling may also be used to target generate in the newly defined Welcome Block area.

Well, I just thought we were due something soon so popped up like some of the other greenery is starting to do. Wondered if anyone had seen anything to get me up relatively early.
And as you say, I thought that was worth a mention as I don’t think it will rate a comment from Wickes until we get the full results, and outlook for the current financial year.

I know. So does everyone else. But people are talking about the downside of shorting on this board, not the upside.
Anyway, if you take all the borrowed and say they’re shorted, it amounts to no more than 0.72%.

I meant no harm. The question of borrowed shares often raises it’s head, too. I don’t know where the totality go, and they could go to short positions under 0.5%. But I also read that brokers borrow shares to fulfil their roles as market makers, and return them.

But if they don’t increase, then what they did is history - shares sold.

JPM went to 0.49% October. So we will know nothing more unless they hit the threshold again.

I’m not a shareholder in NCM. I don’t care what they do. My line being the price of gold from a business perspective is relevant to selling what’s out the back of the shop to customers at a profit and putting cash in the till. Could be ice cream, or anything else. And there’ll be indications on pricing before the shop opens.

Incidentally and looking forward, I presume prior to production Ggp/NCM will negotiate contracts for the forward sale of their products from Havieron and Ggp will tell us something about that.

That last is the nub of it, for me. Get the DTM out the way, and the gold price becomes a little more relevant, increasing as we get towards mining, and actually selling the stuff when the price makes a huge difference to margins. In the meantime, it may be there is greater attraction to miners actually benefitting by rising cash inflow?

I don’t think the corporate mindset is particularly overjoyed by a preponderance of pi’s, though Mr. Day has put himself about. But they’re stuck with us, unless something happens on the corporate front.

If I read the board right, I don’t think there’s anybody don’t want to go mining, see what happens.

Even more significant if you’re selling the stuff. All comes down to cash in the end.

Can you perhaps use ‘satire?’. ‘Sarcasm’ got an ugly ring to it.

The tenancy of Sherry Duhe will be a short one, too, when it’s discovered that in her role as CFO she been slipping over to JPM with suitcases of cash to bribe and pay for shares, and then writing it down to expenses in the accounts. And the auditors will be for the high jump. NCM shareholders might feel a little miffed at being kept in the dark.
Probably quite good for Ggp share price though, when all this comes out. Not so hot for NCM, whose shareholders will wonder what else been siphoned off. Can’t wait.

You're seriously believing that NCM actually might now be the Ggp major shareholder owning over 9%. of the company through an agent, without notification from either at 3%, and at a time of their choosing will pop up and say, had you all there, to Ggp and their own shareholders? Now I'm going to vote a way you don't like Mr. Day and Co. What then?
And, just for argument, some others here may suck it up, I don't, then if they want to, and are not in cahoots with NCM, will execute their warrants ang go to 14.2%.. And then what?
What's the objective, for those that believe the outlandish proposition?
