The question on the directors is just possibly has the Newmont bid and possibilities therefrom upset the original applecart, or are things absolutely according to plan.

I am hoping that the recent appointments of non-execs, particularly Matt Riley of Daisy Group, signals a change for the better in outcomes beyond the next set of results.

Of course, their time frames are more open ended and geared at best overall return. In a sense, that’s why whoever has Telfer would want 100% of the throughput. In my opinion.

In the meantime we just want them plodding on, getting permissions, DTM and all that stuff sorted as we are.

For clarity, for what it’s worth, when I mention time frames I was talking about matters relating to Ggp/Hav/Telfer. ie timing of any corporate event there not incidental with any agreement, and completion of any NCM/NEM result.

Well, it may all come to nothing, and anyway, I have it in mind it’s unlikely to be resolved in any sort of given time frame

Can’t see any obvious realistic alternative other than Telfer going with the major Hav owner, however that pans out.

And maybe show a bit of foresight too, for developments in the region.

I imagine it’d be a darn sight less ‘painful’ for someone to buy 30% Hav, than any other option.

Newmont and Newcrest will be carrying on their business activities in as near a normal fashion as possible, publishing results when due. The acquisition talks are an entirely separate matter.

It’s summed up here isn’t it, giving optimism for future exploration work on Greatland tenements. Nothing to argue about as I see it.

I thought some might see something in it from maybe an alternative viewpoint. None of that influences my Ggp holding decision.

And for Ggp? Wait and see if either Newcrest or Newmont wish to take any corporate action in due course surrounding the Havieron project, with which Telfer is inextricably linked, the alternatives being as broadly adequately set out by Mr. Baxter and reported on here.

Seems straightforward.
I guess it means that negotiations are moving along satisfactorily from both parties perspectives, enabling Newcrest to agree to Newmont’s demand not to solicit competing bids to the date stated.

Yes. Me too. It’s just these things get built into timescales. There seems to be thoughts on here, if I read it right, it’ll all be done and dusted pretty quickly. I still think it’ll be several months, votes, and other stuff, before Newmont get the reins, if a deal is agreed. Mid/end summer, we’ll find out if it goes well.
