I was alluding to, if not making myself clear, that they will not be judged on the outcome of any corporate change, possibly not envisaged at the time of appointment, but which also might have been anticipated.

I put it that way, because corporate outcomes are unclear - to me anyway. Unless the view is taken that at the time of their appointment there was already some form of reasonable expectation around Havieron, to provide for future capex/expansion.

They obviously see a future in the assets, etc., and chose to be a part of that future. I don’t think their reputations are on the line though - they won’t have bitten off more than they can chew - any more than with any other company.

And I would add, I’m very interested but not overly focused on Newmont/Newcrest outcomes. It will take some, I think considerable, time to final completion, and acquisitions/disposals may have little relationship to those particular timescales.

I don’t see it necessarily as a question of being ‘turned over’ or not. Nor will Wyloo and the rest.Mr. Baxter’s win/win scenarios, covering pretty much every option, so he seems safe, has always begged the question as to who might finish up owning at least Havieron, and under what structure. The project will take it’s usual course, anyway.
Nothing has changed that we know of since his comments were welcomed.

I would expect Newcrest and Newmont to be well up to speed on valuations.

Reading the comments it seems fairly basic to me. Progress is continuing and in my opinion if H is what it is cracked up to be then it will be mined, and Telfer will process.
One keeps returning to the terms of the JV and legalities as a backstop. I trust that by now the Ggp board and legal advisors have got their heads around that.

I would have thought that joint ventures result in joint identical knowledge at all points in time.

Mind you, I’ve always said Mxc are a crafty lot.

It might warrant a mention, but I really would be very surprised to see anything new and material.

I wouldn’t expect anything on Newmont/Newcrest to be ‘fitted in’ with normal business.

Mxc intention to sell off all their assets over the next very few years is well known. Mxc will undoubtedly be taking steps to improve its saleability, and considering the corporate market.
As an aside, I don’t know where they are with MXLG - it all just went quiet on that front, following talk of multiple acquisitions to build a ‘company of size and scale’.

I’m happy with things - but I don’t expect every board to foresee everything that might happen.
Ggp can make enquiries, but probably will have to wait on the decisions of others.
