And as far as holding back an MRE to get a better deal is concerned, well, I always thought that was off the mark. What he said, effectively I think, was he had nothing to gain by pushing Newcrest. Which would be true. But this board put an emphasis on something else.

I think he has a propensity to say too much, town halls and things. Then the ‘best bits’ the maybe’s get seized on and pumped up. Not his fault, this boards.

We still have our 30% which is what most of us bought into. And a raise for future capex for H as it grows in size was pretty well inevitable.

As to future moves by Newmont, on the face of it they’re going into evaluation of the combined portfolio and won’t get hands on until year end. By which time H stuff should be out there anyway.

Some may argue, but Ggp seems pretty outgunned by the others in this scenario. But they may wish to divest or buy. I note Newmont say they aim to extract full value on divestments. Well, they would, wouldn’t they?

That’s why you have to have some reservations about corporate types, considering advancing a project and considering ownership of it/big business interests with clout and cash.

ITS. Depends what you mean. Ggp still have the 30%. Back to the old Win/win, how it pans out, and what individuals here perceive as a win for them, price based.

H is an asset of value, and arguably the rest of Ggp tenements, as time passes and the current key Telfer processing. Of course ‘the rest’ are looking for advantage over years, not months, in common with Mr. Day. He has to play it as it falls.

The thing is, Ggp still has its 30%, and the original plans stand. Trouble on boards is some see him as a miracle maker, build it all up beyond reason, set up false expectations. The others have the ball. He’s opting they’ll let him in somehow.

You got to have a sense of humour with all this lot though, and the way they go on and some hang on every word. One such is ‘formally mandated’, not just ‘mandated.’

It was obviously coming sometime, if things went well.

Him choosing to respond to that article it is a debatable decision. Like saying how much he would pay for 5%. Just a thought.

It’s a leak. It was perfectly clear to me that the purpose of the Asx listing is to raise cash if/when required, and he has mentioned what amounts to teeing up ii’s to take any placing, and was considering how to effect that placing, as confirmed today. He never said it would be compliance only.

Hav was said to be fully funded to production based upon 2mt PFS, and when funding details were announced well-positioned to be fully funded in respect of the Feasibility Study targeting an expansion to around 3Mtpa then due in the December 2022 quarter.

That might be the answer.

I’m taking it that 2bn is net, after paying off any debt the combined books will show as attributable to any particular asset - so it may stretch more than at first sight.

So a lot of reorganisation. And I don’t know how much 2bn amounts to in terms of disposals. Perhaps not as many as thought? Don’t know.
