Wouldn’t be surprised if we see a pennant forming as a technical analysis of the chart. Only time will tell. More likely than a placing imvho.

Just to clarify, the company did benefit when it borrowed shares from the Directors et al. It’s certainly not the normal way of doing things, but it kept the company viable at that time:

“ Pennpetro Energy PLC (LSE: PPP), an independent oil and gas company, is pleased to announce that it has conditionally placed 10,000,000 new ordinary shares of £0.01 each in the Company and 51,525,325 existing ordinary shares of £0.01 each in the Company transferred by two directors of the Company, Tom Evans and Olof Rapp together with other existing shareholders, (together the "Placing Shares") at a placing price of 3 pence each (the "Placing Price") to raise £1,545,759 (before expenses) (the "Placing").”

That’s an odd comment. Provide comfort? Were concerns about the financial stability of the company impacting on consumers and potential contract partners?

I worked it out like this 100 million to 150 million shares, give or take…

100/100= 1

100/150= 0.66666 which is the loss of about 1/3.

The new shares might well be in very sticky hands, but the total number will have increased is my take on it.

Please don’t take this as argumentative. My take is shares have been leant by a number of holders in lieu of placing shares being issued in 2023. Those holders will need to be made good by the company issuing new shares to them. So the total share stock will have to increase.

These shares will be on the open market once the company goes through the necessary governance steps to issue them. Thankfully that’s going to be when Tom decides to do it.

There’s going to be over 5,500,000,000 shares in circulation by the end of the year. A sp of 1p gives us an mcap of over £55,000,000. The BoD doesn’t see the company making a profit till 2026. I think that mcap will take longer to establish. Hope I’m wrong!

No agenda, despite what people may think. I don’t think a post on a bb will influence the sp. “Know the enemy”… that’s not me, but a bb should be updated as to what is being said about a share. I want this share to go through the roof. I also accept this isn’t guaranteed. But it’s more likely now DL has gone.

TW’s Bearcast raises concerns about the solvency of PPP, the true value of the JVs, and criticises DL’s past and present behavior.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if a major company bought the group. Did a “Tesla”. Buy it all and then decide exactly what they want. There’s significant talent within the R&D teams here. Beyond that just offered by the IP already developed.

Sharebel, very reasonable and reassuring response. Some shares are bound to be in the hands of traders. They’ll sell as they do. Once these are cleared, there she blows!

Hopefully we’ll see Tom managing the operational stuff, the new Chairman hands on with the company governance and compliance. A few good news RNS updates and this will fly when suspension ends.

Fair point. I was thinking about the % increase in the number of shares and the way MMs look at this. Do they look at the % increase in total shares or do they simply say the placing was at X, that’s the new sp.

CPX will have a 66% increase in shares, and the first tranche of 33% resulted in the sp being marked down to the placing price. Will MMs do the same with just a 10% dilution, that we’ve had? Do they drop to stop an instant profit being taken by the new holders? Or is a more nuanced approach taken?
