"At this time, means this time of the EU elections"
Completely false in terms of what Farage said. Listen to what he actually said. He was very clear.... He talked about issues arising at different times in relation to British Politics not in relation to which vote was involved at any time. He the circumdtances today with the situation at the time of the referendum, mentioning Merkel's differing actions.
Your journey into fiction ended the argument.
That is not what Farage said. He didn't say he wasn't focusing on immigration on the basis that these are EU elections. You are making things up now.
Let me help you with the logic. He said in effect the reason he was not focused on immigration just now was because it was not a burning issue for the UK at this time. He confirmed that.
We can take that as confirmation that the tiny number of refugees - a tiny subset of immigrants which will be unaffected by brexit - are not a burning issue for the UK now too.
In which case ... refugees (not a burning issue) are an insignificant problem compared to treason and corruption at the highest level. Which would indeed be a burning issue. Comparison confirmed.
How significant do you think the half million Euros the IDDE misused.. a lot of which was for UKIP and Farage in his campaigns, and the £35000 Farage misused ... how significant is that to understanding how much Farage's really cares about democracy?
As for your link.. how how significant an impact do you think Brexit would have had on preventing those attempts at illegal immigration. A clue it .. won't change it.
And relatively speaking how significant and useful have the EU's actions of negotiating with countries outside the EU to keep millions of refugees out been ? Would things be better if the EU had done nothing and those millions had come in ?
Can you work out why Farage is not making an issue out of refugees?
LTI... lolol... if as Farage says ... we are in different circumstances now and immigration is not the burning issue AND accepted refugee figures are running at one hundredth of one percent of population how do you believe that is significant compared to wrecking the country with corruption?
If it was a significant issue to his campaign do you think he would not be shouting about it ?
If you are worried he did not say the exact words "I confirm that this is not a significant issue" you can check your own quotes. They were not verbatim transcripts of all he said either.
So sticking to the point .. do you think we should let the press and control if the country be sold by crooked politicians at the highest level in government in order to have no impact on the 6000 or so asylum seekers we are taking in?
Have fun splitting hairs on your own your boring fart.
On the Marr show Farage said "immigration isn't the burning issue of the times".
Refugee asylum applications accepted in 2018 to uk were about 5000 or 6000. About a hundredth of a percent of population?
Brexit won't change that. Farage knows it and he knows the EU have drastically reduced flows of refugees and helped manage the problem. So we won't be hearing much about it from him. If he could he would still be screaming.
So.. back to the original point .. as I said it would not be very wise to say we are happy to let politicians act corruptly, let crooked foreign billionaires control the country or trash the justice system to deal with levels of asylum seekers which are small and can not be significantly reduced anyway.
As for Farage worrying about democracy ... he and groups he is associated with have been caught with their hands in the till more than once misusing tax payers money to influence UK election votes.
No.. I will take that back Simon.. the simple bit .. I haven't seen you post here before and I have no idea who you are so there was no need to be sarcy on my part. We disagree very clearly that's all. Good to see another poster here regardless of views.
Simon if so you are very simple indeed and long behind the times. The refugee crisis is not a significant issue now.. as confirmed by Farage himself. You just said you are happy to condone countries being trashed through corruption and treasonous behaviour to deal with non-issues.
I didn't say anything about elections. I just mentioned things that have happened. I would say mentioning them supports democracy though.
Since you mention voting though, since when has turning a blind eye and voting for parties that do these kinds of things been a good idea. And when has it helped democracy? Bribery and corrupt courts and do in?
Supposition? Nonsense Boomerbower. Yiu don't know of
1. Video showing Freedom party arranging to accept bribe.. and a public admission and a new snap election in Austria.
2. Laws passed in Hungary.
3. Court cases, fines imposed in the UK and admissions of £450k by Farage.
Since when is it "smug" to say a government taking over its courts or another accepting bribes to sell the country's press or indeed misusing funds and breaking electoral rules is wrong ?
It's smug .. and stupid to know that and say it's ok.
It's beyond a question just about Brexit when you have a group of rich far right political parties co operating across Europe .. and in the UK who are willing to take millions in bribery to mess their country up. Which aspect of taking bribes from enemy powers, selling their country out, or governments taking over the legal system are most supportable and when are they good things for a country?
All the far right parties in Europe, including UKIP and the people I just mentioned are being advised and supported by the far right neo fascist Steve Bannon and his group called "The Movement".
Its no secret and no one denies it.
In Bannon's own words he wants to provide the infrastructure for the globalist populist movement. His far right views and his belief in pouring out fake information is well known.
In February 2018 he said "We got elected on Drain the Swamp, Lock Her Up, Build a Wall. This was pure anger. Anger and fear is what gets people to the polls. The Democrats don't matter. The real opposition is the media.
And the way to deal with them is to flood the zone with shit"
With people like this around, be careful what you swallow.
The far right's true colours are on display across Europe now. The Austrian "Freedom party" (sounds so noble doesn't it) has been caught plotting to sell their media and their country out to Russian billionaire crooks.
In Hungary Viktor Orban has taken direct control of the country's courts and now can hire, fire and pay judges on matters to do with elections and government.
Closer to home Vote leave has been fined another £40,000 (total now £101k) for wrong doing and Farage's sleazy finances are on display again. While collecting tax payers' money as an MEP employee he has spent the last year or two swanning around supporting the far right in America, visiting Julian Assange, and building up his youtube following. Now it turns out he was paid £450,000 'as a friendly gesture' by Aaron Banks during that time too. Banks is presently under criminal investigation and has not managed to explain properly where the millions he gave to Vote Leave came from. Or why he lied about his many contacts with Russians.
Leave.eu and Bank's insurance company have been fined £120,000 already. Farage and the £450k are now being investigated. That's what the reports read and so far only admissions and few if any denials.
The fruit of the fascist tree. Sleaze, corruption, treachery and ultimately war.
Have a nice peaceful day.
