Not sure I like the new terms of the bondholders. The new senior notes are set at 9.5% with the resolution fees tripling. Thats 9.5% for these notes and 9.5% for the state loan. Turning out to very very expensive borrowing....
Its unlikely Spain, and the islands will be coming out of quarantine soon. With our own rising cases, it now appears we will add/remove countries at will and not just on the Thursdays. Besides, people just aren't booking at the minute due to the constant changes. Just look at Portugal which is likely to be added again. I do feel for the airlines as it must be an absolute nightmare for them..
Zebudee, Please stop constantly spamming this board. Yesterday for example you had about 15 posts one after the other. Posting stuff that we ALREADY know. You post the same link. Do you not think we haven't seen the latest updates at all? We already know that they are 145% up on bookings - but is it a comparison from this summer? If so, thats not a great stat is it. They clearly said MUCH of this is people moving their holidays from this year to next year. People will still go on holiday but with Tui its the case is the debt too much to service? I like Tui and I think she'll survive as long as this second spike is prolonged.
Not sure what todays drop was about as DTG finished just about blue I think. Good news that Portugal is added to the corridor. With Turkeys cases rising daily its only a matter of time I think before that is quarantinable. Remember, they announced Spain on a Saturday night so they could add it at anytime I guess. I don't think they would do Greece at the same time as Turkey though. Its bewildering how they do pick them though as Trinidad and Tobago have a fairly low count but they were added today to. Could see some Blue tomorrow though as I think at least Turkey or Greece was priced in. Croatia was a cert. Its just how tolerant holiday makers will be. Our holiday to Dominican was cancelled, then changed to Spain, then changed to France and now we are going to Cyprus (Hopefully!) and we decided if that got cancelled that would be us done for overseas travel for the rest of the year...!
Well Norway have added Greece AND the UK to their quarantine so I guess we can expect at least Greece and Croatia (And possibly Turkey) this week.
Quote:
Authorities in Norway have said they will impose a 10-day quarantine on all people arriving from the UK, Austria, Greece and Ireland from 22 August due to rising numbers of coronavirus cases in those countries, Reuters reports.
Similar restrictions will also be imposed on those coming from the Danish capital, Copenhagen, the Norwegian foreign ministry said in a statement.
Slovenia is urging its citizens to return from Croatia by the end of the week or face an obligatory two-week quarantine after the number of Covid-19 cases continued to rise there, a government spokesman has said.
“The situation is so bad that we have no choice but to urge citizens to return from the dangerous country as soon as possible,” Jelko Kacin said.
After being in these for a month or two with a fairy large holding, I've sold out at a loss. I can't see this rising for a bit so will take a punt it will lower before buying back in. I can't see restrictions being lifted in the very short term and the UK ministers seem hell bent on destroying the overseas travel market. If Turkey or Greece get added to the quarantine this week then another leg down is expected. Unfortunately my timing today was awful selling at 300p before the rise to 318p. With cases rising worldwide, this won't help either. Good luck all..
News just out:
Quarantine for people arriving from Spain and other countries with high levels of Covid-19 will be cut to 10 days under plans being finalised by UK ministers, The Telegraph has reported.
Agreed 100% MD J Morgan.
I just hope that good portion of the travellers due to fly out in the next 10 days re-booked to Greece, Turkey, etc etc.
I might just hold out. its a solid company, and the UK is just part of their portfolio. Its been drastically let down but this shower of **** Dominic Raab.(And yes I am conservative) How can you not consult with the Spanish ministers and the airline industries. Hopefully, the quarantine won't be too long......

How is this 98p by 10am claim going? Seriously!!! Its like saying Liverpool are going to beat Man City 21-0. Yes its not impossible, but VERY unlikely. Personally, I think he knew it wasn't going to. No one is that naive in the Stockmarket surely?
You do make me laugh Paddy! No one expects this to be up tomorrow - but I'm sure you know that already. Tui are still flying to 9 out of the 12 Spanish airports. No one really knows what it will fall by tomorrow, but surely you MUST know that it is NOT falling to 98p. I cannot take you seriously with a claim like that.!
LOL. Surely you cannot be sane saying £1 by 10am Monday? Sure, its very likely to fall on Monday but not by 70%!!!!!. Tui flies from many countries, not just the UK and Spain is only one of their countries they fly to. Also, they are still flying to the Canaries and Balearics from Tomorrow, which is most of their Spanish destinations right now. I predicted they would still fly to these places this morning and its the right thing to do from Tui. Like others have said, Spain has far lower death figures than us and you are SAFER going to Spain. Something the UK government CANNOT grasp.
according to the link, its only the Sunday flights that have been cancelled so far I wouldn't be surprised that the Airline industry will lobby to have an air corridor with the canaries and the belearics as these are not on the advisory. UK government at the minute has no regard for business it seems.
